Cleveland to Pay $2.25 Million Over Police Killing of an Unarmed White Man

I live in an inner ring Cleveland suburb, and work in downtown Cleveland and I had never heard of this story!

Probably because it didn’t fit the identity politics meme. White cops go out of their way to kill an unarmed, and working class, white guy, and nobody seems to care. Certainly not the media. Thank you WSWS!

    1. a little justice in this case, but no criminal charges.

    2. WSWS? We live in a time when a Trotskyite site is one of the best sources

of news in cyberland.  I wonder how proud the Columbia School of Journalism is of this fact. Journalism has joined economics, among others, as an unabashed apologist for monopoly capital.

      3. Indeed. I don't always agree with their theoretical conclusions, or with what

they say about what should be done about any particular problem, but mostly they get their facts straight. They are far more objective, old-school, fact-checking journalists than the Washington Post, New York Times, or any of the mainstream television networks, that’s for sure. I took journalism in high school back in the day, and the questions Who, What, When, Where, Why and How were drilled into me.

All are needed wherever possible; it’s not multiple choice.

        4. I also find that they get the facts straight and save the analysis for the last

two or three paragraphs. It’s good journalism as far as I can see with stories you get nowhere else. The analysis puts it into their context which is OK – I often agree and sometimes disagree – but it’s easy to separate fact from opinion. I agree with you that the so-called “papers of record” mix their editorial slant throughout the news articles.

        5. I did the same as a freshman HS.

Funny I always hear Who-What-When-Where-Why, hardly anybody mentions How. Always noticed the How not being included.

Made me smile to see you included the How. You are also correct about- Probably because it didn’t fit the identity politics meme.
