    1. So KauaiK, what does this say about the people that vote ?

      3. What does that say about the Democratic Party who cheated their way to run

a candidate with higher negatives than Trump?

        4. That only covers the latter, what about the former??

Me see trends and timelines. Seems to me that there is a distinct rift that has no bridges.

        edited for fucking spelling again.

Shit. This is getting to be a habit.

          5. I was thinking about this last night b/c my response to you was, ya but look

over here.  Flippant and misdirected.  What I was thinking is I have never had a decade in my life where the US was “on the right track”.  Never.

50’s were duck and cover b/c you know those damn Ruskies.

60’s were Bag of Pigs/Castro, Viet Nam where my peers would be drafted; if they came back alive, they were dead inside or barely surviving the psychological damage b/c it was a political war fueled by lies; Kissenger and his murderous tenure.

70’s was more of Kissenger and Nixon Watergate.  I was glued to the TV b/c what many of us suspected was exposed.  But there was an “esprit de corps” between the parties for the common good.

80’s was Reagan and the beginning of deregulation and the looting by the 1%.  Unions were being crushed starting with the Air Traffic Controllers.  The decade ended with Bush I and the Savings & Loan debacle of which is son, Neil, was involved and for which the taxpayers paid.

90’s enter’s Clinton; a wolf in sheep’s clothing if ever there was one in addition to being a sexual predator.  He continued Nixon’s policy of eviserating the black community and created the largest prison population in the world (by ratio).  AND finished off the Republican initiated deregulation with the repeal of Glass/Stegall.

00’s Bush II/ Darth Cheney, Iraq and the Economic melt down – again the taxpayers bailed them out.  During these years I began to “feel” that the country would not survive and left the mainland.

Obama prooved that NO ONE controls the NSA/CIA “deep state” military complex.  He went along for the ride.  The so-called economic recovery benefitted only the top 1%.

Trump:  There are but a mere handful of those elected who have ethics ethics and integrity.  I look at McConnell and Paul Ryan and see nothing but pure sinister banality.   I no longer believe the country and the 99% can survive the literally looting by the Republicans and Trump.

And of course, we back to square one with those pesky Ruskies.

            6. And then there is the here and now.

Isn’t THAT what’s important? It’s fine to look at the past to learn what not to do, but why aren’t those lessons used to better all mankind? What happens to the idea of examining our errors and changing our direction?

That’s what I’m trying to point out. We’ve had more than s hundred years to examine firsthand the destructive power of unfettered capitalism, yet seem hell bent for leather to deny social commitments and humanistic morals.

            And the beat goes on……

              7. You are absolutely right. It is capitalism; unregulated capitalism.

              Kudos
