John Morgan confirms he’s pondering run for governor

Firebrand Orlando attorney John Morgan confirmed Thursday he is considering a run for Florida governor in 2018, throwing a wild card into a race dominated so far by traditional politicians.

Morgan, a longtime Democratic fundraiser, responded in an online post to a petition drive launched this week by Ben Pollara, campaign manager for the Morgan-backed medical marijuana amendment – which Florida voters overwhelmingly approved on Nov. 8.

Morgan did not specifically say he would run as a Democrat. But he laid out several of his key beliefs, including decriminalizing marijuana, releasing drug offenders from prison, restoring voting rights for nonviolent felons and increasing the minimum wage to $15.

He also called for eliminating state positions such as lieutenant governor and commissioner of agriculture – coincidentally or not, positions currently held by two potential Republican candidates for governor, Lt. 1. please John do it! Don't allow DINO Gwen Graham!

She voted for Keystone and TPPee!

Also she pandered to possibly poisoned Polk County residents to engage against republicans. All while her dad was given info on St. Pete’s dumping and harmed residents there long before Polks problems. St. Pete never saw her and those citizens know it’s because she didn’t want to harm the democratic administration there. But citizens being poisoned is just too bad as she won’t pander where it hurts her party.

Gwen Graham is status quo elite establishment.  Not what the awful state of being, Florida is in right now needs.

John is a REAL democrat who has put his OWN money where his mouth is.  He for sure has the name rec!

    FOR THE PEOPLE

    2. Oh, I hope he runs!

Yes, Gwen Graham is a DINO.  Ugh.  I will not vote for her, no time, no how.

You think the only reason that people won't vote for a warmongering Third Way fracking-enabling cluster bomb throwing H-1B increasing lying pandering corporate and Wall Street shill who says she has no problem putting abortion rights on the table is because we are mad about Bernie?  Um, nope.

    3. He has appeared on Ring of Fire as a host. He is

friends with RFK, Jr. He has some powerful friends but people in Florida generally dislike his commercials. He throws great, annual, well attended parties for family and friends at the Fairgrounds. I have been lucky enough to attend.

Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and Kevin J. Madonna Join Morgan & Morgan

      APRIL 01, 2016

Morgan & Morgan is proud to announce that famed environmental attorneys Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and Kevin J. Madonna of Kennedy & Madonna, LLP will now be of counsel to the firm.

This partnership stems from the two firms’ successful collaboration on the case against SoCalGas Company following the Aliso Canyon gas well blowout in California.

Morgan & Morgan is committed to holding companies accountable when negligence results in devastating environmental consequences. In addition to the firm’s work on behalf of Porter Ranch residents who suffered as a result of the gas well blowout, Morgan & Morgan previously, and successfully, took on BP after the Gulf of Mexico oil spill…

I’m hoping Morgan runs. He sounds fairly progressive especially for Florida.
