    Here's A Lovely Hit/Split Piece… Methinks They're Worried…

Democrats Beware: Sanders ‘Movement’ Turns to Midterms – NBCNews

    <snip>

But for Justice Democrats’ founder, liberal media personality Cenk Uygur, what seems to matter most is inflicting damage on the Democratic Party. The group’s website features an image of a sledgehammer smashing the “D” logo of the Democratic National Committee and declares “it’s time to rebuild the Democratic Party from scratch.”

Not mentioned hardly anywhere on the site is Trump.

“It is time for them to step aside and let us lead. If you want unity, we’re ready to lead. You get unified on this actual progressive platform,” Ugyur said on his popular internet TV show, The Young Turks.

The show’s advertising package claims it has 85 million unique monthly views in addition to a core of members who pay $10 a month or more for extra services. That supports a large staff and professional broadcast operation that hosted major guests from Sanders to film director Quentin Tarantino.

Critics say Ugyur’s slash-and-burn approach to the Democratic Party is little more than an opportunist attempt to corner the media market for disaffected liberals, and that now he and his ilk are trying to do the same for politics…

      1. I don't think NBC would mention a competitor unless that competitor

was making inroads into NBC’s audience and advertising revenue. The dying for-profit media is more and more talking to itself

and advertisers – perhaps – are either cutting back or threatening to do so. I put this under the heading of “good news.”

      2. No mention of Our Revolution group?

This is a poorly written hit piece but it is interesting. Critics say Cenk is only out to line his pockets…funny how they name not one critic.

        3. I agree a totally obvious hit piece. The writer is trying to belittle us. They

will see. Apparently they are not aware of the crowds Bernie is getting and that it is because we are not buying their line of bull.

          5. I have been waiting for the clash with BNC/Justice Democrats with Perez.

I found it odd no mention of Our Revolution.

They can try and belittle us, what else do they ever have but cheap tricks? They avoid talking policy, it all falls apart for them on that score.

        4. And DWS and HRC

        Weren’t out to line theirs?

While you never really know, I find it terribly hard to believe that Bernie is in in for the money.

Again, heavens forbid, that anyone do anything that benefits average people and might cost the 1% a few dollars. Anyone complaining about Democratic leadership should just shut up and play nice. “Go back to identity politics…we’ve got this“, and neo-liberal crap like the DNC having “it” is what frightens me.

          8. I see it as bullshit. Cenk's motives are supposedly more about

profits for him and we’re suppose to ignore that we have known him for years? It’s his fault there are so many people fed up with msm propaganda too I guess. lol Let’s see, who was it in corporate media land that gave Trump unprecedented coverage for ratings? All of them.

Bernie isn’t in it  for the money, but be prepared for enhanced propaganda against him as we go forward.

            15. Yep

The media and the Clinton campaign made tRump possible.

The TPTB are not happy with Bernie, and for what? Advocating for economic justice? And yeah, the hatchet men have tried some small attacks so far, but I suspect that the level of dislike from both the Rethugs and Dem leadership is high and things will ramp up. Can’t have left wing populism in this country. Clearly Fascism/Corporatism/Oligarchy/Kleptocracy (call it what you wish),  all are ok, but FDR style democracy. No, No, NO!

              17. They know they'd have to give up many of their corporate donors

to accomplish that..so they picked a side and we’re not on it. Are they as bad as Trump, nope…..but what a low fucking bar is that?

      6. Gee, that "unity" bullshit must not be working out so well, eh?

This just shows they are a wee bit worried.  And that there is a faint chance that they have a glimmer of a clue that they can’t squeal “Trump!!!!!” and get progressive votes.  Actually, since I do not believe they can ever really campaign on issues, since they are Third Way austerity warmongering frackers on the issues, all they have now is identity politics and smears and “TRUMP!!!!!!”.   Good to see this being dragged out in the open, in a way.

You think the only reason that people won't vote for a warmongering Third Way fracking-enabling cluster bomb throwing H-1B increasing lying pandering corporate and Wall Street shill who says she has no problem putting abortion rights on the table is because we are mad about Bernie?  Um, nope.

        26. When they say "unity" they mean "fall in line".

If they want unity we’re fully prepared to have full unity, as long as it is behind an actual progressive platform and policy that benefits the working/poor/minority people of the USA. If they want unity they are free to unite behind this.

The reason the Angry Tangerine isn’t mentioned is that “Not Trump!” doesn’t work. It didn’t work for Hillary. It won’t work going forward. The Democrats are going to have to learn they need to stand up for the average voter instead of just not being as scary as the Republicans.

As most everyone, he sounded good when Bush was POTUS, but since then has shown he’s typical establishment Dem.

I called his office before the DNC chair vote and went on and on about how we need Ellison and how the party needs to get back to being a party of the people and how the Dems completely blew it when they colluded to get Hillary nominated. I said that’s why I left the party and why many more will leave if they don’t elect Ellison. And I told him we had the perfect candidate who would’ve fought for the people and the Dem leadership blew it.

You posted the same information exactly an hour before I posted the same info.  Just wanted to acknowledge this fact.  We have so many well informed members here who I rely on all the time to keep me MORE informed about past and present facts.  While I’m no millennial, actually a BOOMER from way back, I recall so much of what we did back then and do try to keep well informed today that we have access to so much more at a faster pace than ever before.

Still, I did know about Cenk and follow him now as a supporter.  One reason I knew about Chris Hastings and what happened to him while he reported on his Current Show and the car crash that killed him.

, Oh my I really need to find all those other emoji’s so I can access a wider array than what’s available above. I do know several places to find them, but my lack of “tech acumen” I’ve yet to learn how to post pictures, super links and so much more.  Been telling myself to research the Help & Q & A here but time just gets away from me.  Do have a FB account, but rarely use it and there’s info there too.  I’m a bit jealous of all the great links I see here that come from all over.  WOW, got off the main subject for sure.  Between my OCD and inability to keep my posts short… I skip all over the place.
