    1. Except for harder to teach children. That stops me right there.

      2. i.e. reinstate segregation because black kids are harder to educate.

        3. Yes, any child can be labeled hard to teach. Most private schools do not allow

troubled children to attend and then they claim that they do a better job of educating. Public schools take a beating in the testing scores because they take on the hard to teach students as well. And you are right after segregation in the south the churches all started little all white schools to avoid the change.

Get your walking shoes out teachers and administrators – we need to save the schools.

          4. problem is, the infrastructure is well in place and has been for more than

a decade.  folks who weren’t following this and just now get wise have their work cut out for them.  it started before bush the younger and has been accelerating ever since.

and the union leadership is in the bag:

Hillary Clinton on Tuesday said traditional public schools and charter schools should share ideas — a remark met with boos by delegates from the National Education Association’s representative assembly.

To the thousands of teachers gathered at the labor union’s annual conference, Clinton said “when schools get it right, whether they are traditional public schools or public charter schools, let’s figure out what’s working … and share it with schools across America.”

Both the NEA and the other major teachers union, the American Federation of Teachers, were early endorsers of Clinton.

            5. I remember – but wasn't that because their leader was Her dear friend. My

two children went to a private church school while I was in college. The church paid for it because it was a religious school. It was connected to a teacher’s college and was good for that reason BUT it did not take my oldest disabled child in and the college tried to ignore her as much as they could. Share ideas? Fortunately my state has very few private schools and those are mostly for pre-school. We will find some way to survive.

                  8. hadn't heard that; regardless, if 'friendship' is the reason for the

endorsement, it’s a disservice to the membership

              11. One of the questions that Senators ask DeVos about was the implementation of

IDEA-Individuals With Disabilities Education Act in all schools.  She stumbled and had no real answer.  New US AG Sessions tried to stop IDEA from becoming law in 1989-90 because he realized that the privatization of education would not be in step with the average 12% of the population being in need of special education under IDEA and up to 40%, have reading and writing difficulties and need the Rehabilitation Acts (first in 1973), to make education facilitators provide appropriately.

12% of the population of children needs both a Section 504 Plan under the two Rehabilitation Acts, and the Independent Education Plan-IEP under IDEA and The Rehabilitation Acts.

              DeVos is a failed candidate.

                12. Yes, most of these schools were created to enable discrimination of one kind or

another. DeVos does not believe in democracy.

    10. The charter school is the new CDO.

Collateralized Debt Obligation. ( See The Big Short).

No one understands it but…. by golly….. they are IN.

Except charters actually precede CDOs by a few years, I believe.
