Rex Tillerson is proof of the corporate coup

Besides being CEO and chairman of one of the largest, wealthiest companies on the planet, Tillerson is also a trustee for the Center for Strategic and International Studies (that supplies our news media with their readymade “experts”)  and the American Petroleum Institute. He is also a member of the Business Roundtable.   So while once these corporations hid their power by working through Think Tanks, lobbyists, as backroom policy advisors and revolving door access/recruitment of government officials, now they are out of the closet, feeling omnipotent and have literally taken the tiller.

The Business Roundtable (like ALEC)  constitutes the very highest echelons of power/control (essentially, those behind the curtain…OZ)  and they will divide up the spoils of this, their latest acquisition (the U.S. government)   strip the government of any real authority, personnel or assets belonging to the people.  And they will pursue their takeover strategy of resources belonging to our own and other countries.  These people are capable of imposing their will on anyone (including their host country, the USA), in order to maintain this control.  Consider the death of nearly 3000 Americans on 9/11 in order to push us into Afghanistan and then the Middle East…. this is what we’re up against.

    1. Business as usual is NOT a coup

Better to have business as usual out in the open, clear as a sunny day, with Exxon CEO as SoS, than the “say one thing, do the other” business as usual of Obama admin.

If Trump has the decency to be open and honest about his, and yes,  mainstream view of US primary foreign policy interests, let the opposition respect that and oppose the real issue, our hydrocarbon dependent way of life, by offering real alternatives and good examples. When the power shows the truth about itself, truth can be discussed truthfully, in the open.

      5. I think their treatment of protestors at Standing Rock might have

opened a lot of people’s eyes to just how hostile the corporations are and how they don’t plan to play by the rules

of law in order to get their way.   It was really unbelievable.

        7. it got the attention of some upper middle class yoga types i know but

they parse it as big government run amuck

it feeds into their anti government stance (don’t tax us) but not any democratic or republican (in the best sense of the word) feelings

they don’t talk about the corporate aspect they see government as a thing unto itself that does bad things to business and native americans (if they’re in fashion)

        lol

    4. By some means they must be stopped.

    8. Citi named 0bams's cabinet(in part) so the corporate coup was already in place.

I think Tillerson is another symptom that the coup is alive and well and has been since Clinton(or before).
