What topics have been banned from JPR

besides the one we all know about.

as CS states: Extraordinary claims need extraordinary evidence (I see this being important in a courtroom, not so much on a discussion forum), yet I see Russia Hacked … ! posts here when there is not one SHRED of evidence to support this.

Julian Assange said it was not Russia. Are some people calling him a liar and believing the freakin’ CIA?

Please clear this up, it bothers me quite a bit.

    1. Good question. Of course, that CT is no longer useful, methinks,

since the EC voted for Trump.

You think the only reason that people won't vote for a warmongering Third Way fracking-enabling cluster bomb throwing H-1B increasing lying pandering corporate and Wall Street shill who says she has no problem putting abortion rights on the table is because we are mad about Bernie?  Um, nope.

      3. Yeah I'm hoping the "Russians did it" meme fades away now.

Then again the MIC may decide to keep up the propaganda.  Why waste a perfectly good meme even if it has no basis in fact?

No need to fear, we’ll just go in as far as the Ukraine and then pull out… we promise.

        13. It is "fact" to almost all my "liberal" friends

and I don’t see how you could ever prove the Russian’s DIDN’T do it to their satisfaction.

I’m the one who supposedly has been crazy since Bernie “lost”…

    2. What are you talking about?

Are you seriously suggesting we’re censoring posts about the Russian hacks? Have you looked at the stuck posts? The Daily Radical?

      5. I think the OP is saying the opposite of what you think they are saying.

They wonder why it isn’t considered CT and banned.

        10. Thank you.

Whisp just explained that. Makes more sense.

      6. I guess I didn't make myself clear. I'll try again.

There is NO evidence that Russia did the hacking, yet it is allowed to be discussed here. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence does not apply to the Russian Hacking topic?

      What is the differential?

        8. Oh, i see. I misunderstood

The best way to handle that is to actually report a post rather than post this like we’re censoring things we’re not.

As far as people posting it as fact, it’s not something we would necessarily remove. It would depend on what it says and how it’s written.

Push back is a wonderful thing, as long as it’s done without personal attacks. Some of the best posts about the truth have been in replies to that particular propaganda.

Unfortunately, because our government and the media are pretending there’s proof, it’s a difficult thing to know where the line is. We have removed a few REPORTED posts pushing the propaganda. As I said, it depends on how it is written

So, as I’ve asked about a million times, please report things that break the rules

      7. My impression is that since the Russians did it! thing has not one shred of

evidenced – why are those allowed.

You think the only reason that people won't vote for a warmongering Third Way fracking-enabling cluster bomb throwing H-1B increasing lying pandering corporate and Wall Street shill who says she has no problem putting abortion rights on the table is because we are mad about Bernie?  Um, nope.

        11. IMO, challenging a false claim is better than ignoring it.

The result of it is being challenged as false in a lot of places is why it has fallen flat. If it weren’t challenged it would be accepted as fact since all the msm is pushing it.

Also censoring news considered false or biased is what has led many other sites to be so restrictive of alternate views. it’s better to let people discuss all views and make their own decisions.

    4. I believe none are banned.

Evidence for claims of crimes is a good request. Only see one or two Russia hacked us stories and you know Clinton supporters have to  blame some one. It can’t be Clinton sucks or anything.

Apparently if you talk about equality for women you “there should be equality for everyone” meme.  Sort off like tell BLM folks all lives matter, not just black lives.

    9. Why are we all forgetting about the "Chinese hacks,"

aren’t they a player in the game too?

    14. I think a lot of people conflate…

… the idea of “hacking” the election with the the idea of “influencing” the election via propaganda, fake news – whatever.

As as far as I can tell, there is no evidence of the former.  But the Russians, the Chinese, the Brits, the intelligence operations, corporate interests, the National Enquirer, et al have been doing the latter for decades.

If American voters bought it, that’s on them.

    15. I don't know if the Russians hacked the DNC or Podesta's emails or our election;

I suspect they may have hacked (or successfully phished) that idiot clinton’s private email server, however…

The main difference for me between the two cases alluded to in the OP is that a private individual with social media accounts and a known and easily located geographical location was called out and pilloried with no verified proof by non-law enforcement types (and a person with a gun!) and to me that is the difference between the two: a private individual with the right to due process vs. an amorphous group (the Russians!).
