When I was in high school, we got a St. Bernard puppy. When he first saw snow, he went berserk. He pressed his nose to the ground and plowed through the new snow like… well, like a snowplow. Then he shook himself off and did it all over again. After five or six repetitions, he finally got tired and just rolled around in it.

We had a snow shortly after I got Millie and Grayson. Millie dashed outside and embraced her inner snow kitten, jumping from one small drift to another. Grayson sat on the bottom step and said, “There’s no way I’m putting my precious white tootsies in that cold white stuff.”

Actually, Thursday felt like Friday, and today felt like Saturday. I’ve been spending most of my time in my kitchen and only looking at timers, not calendars. And even though it’s cool outside (no snow, thankfully!) I have the a/c on due to the almost constant use of my oven and dehydrator (biscotti and candied grapefruit peels.)

I need to get back to it now. Rest-time’s over! :hi:
