      1. New updated page….

Corrected some errors that had crept in to the older page, and also just added Janet Everhard for the 2nd district of Ohio.  She looks pretty good in her interview here where she’s labeled a “Berniecrat” when TYT interviews her.

She’s also mentioned in the following web sites too that establish her more as a progressive voice in this district.

      http://theprogressivewing.com/janet-everhards-campaign-for-congress-oh-02/

Though a little less visible as a strong progressive, Richard Crosby running for the same seat also sounds good too.  If someone votes to add him too, I’ll put him in.  He’s mentioned in Progressive Wing as well…

      http://theprogressivewing.com/richard-crosbys-campaign-for-congress-oh-02/

and also on this page where Janet is also discussed too in a gathering they both attended of progressives.

      2. Found a good post highlighting Berniecrats running for congress…

      https://www.counterpunch.org/2017/10/03/dnc-favors-democrat-incumbents-over-bernie-backing-primary-challengers/

Going through this now to see who we haven’t added yet and looking for other corroborating material and will then add them.  Starting now with Jon Pelzer in district 30 of California…  Here’s an instagram of his that solidifies him there.

Will add more as I find them…

        3. Adding Mary Jo Walters who's going after Tammy Baldwin's senate seat…

Seems good, though I wouldn’t see some more data on her.

Now we have the whole state with a decent candidate option for the House to vote for. They will need it to help them get the reforms they need after what they just went through this week!

Have two candidates in that district now…

He was a Bernie Sanders campaigner and delegate last year.  Sounds like a good one.

        https://weissfornevada.com/about-michael/

“…My first formal involvement in politics was in 2008 as a volunteer for Barack Obama’s presidential campaign.  After returning to Las Vegas in 2016, I was very inspired by Bernie Sanders and volunteered for his campaign.  I served as a precinct captain during the Democratic Caucus, as a delegate to the Clark County Democratic Convention, and as a delegate to the Nevada State Democratic Convention.  Although I was saddened when Sanders did not receive the nomination, I voted for Hillary Clinton in the general election.”

He makes it clear here he’s not a corporate Democrat, and that he wouldn’t be spoonfed someone like Kamala Harris as a candidate being pushed by big money.  That’s very thoughtful and strong values he has as a great person of color!  Would definitely support him!

      21. Consider Beto O'Rourke for US Senator from Texas.

I have friends down there who were for Bernie and are supporting him and, as this article from Mother Jones shows(along with a lot of standard D v. R analysis on a broader scale, but never mind that), he supports single payer health care and marijuana legalization at the federal level.

And like Bernie, he is going to parts of Texas that haven’t voted Democratic in a generation and drawing interest from the locals. He seems like a Jim Hightower/Molly Ivins type Texas progressive populist to me. He also has at least a chance of defeating Ted Cruz in the general, precisely because he’s not a corporate Democrat.

        22. He's already there on the list…

But two others in the race I think also deserved mention as well.  I guess over time, where there are multiple candidates in some races, perhaps we need to talk about whether we advocate one of them over the other(s) to avoid vote splitting giving a nomination to a corporatist or the like.  If there are two or more candidates and one is a Democrat and the other a third party or independent, it probably pays to put them both in, as one hopefully wins the nomination, and if not, we campaign for the independent or third party candidate in the general election.  Perhaps for the two races where we have Brand New Congress Republicans here, where I don’t think there’s a good progressive Democrat yet (or independent), we can perhaps advocate that people make a difference in those elections if there aren’t other races where voting as a Democrat is important as well, that they vote for the decent Republican, and maybe even an independent in the general election, to ensure that we don’t get extreme right wing Republicans winning in some red state areas.

      25. Election for Pennsylvania 18th district could happen around December this year..

… to replace Murphy who’s running for governor.  Makes those Berniecrats we have listed there that much more important to get behind in the short term.

      https://www.reddit.com/r/BlueMidterm2018/comments/74ucxg/murphy_resignation_creates_pa18_special_election/

[–]Kilpikonnaa 94 points 22 hours ago

Under Pennsylvania election law, Democratic Gov. Tom Wolf has ten days to call a special election to be held no sooner than 60 days from the date of his proclamation. That means a race to replace Murphy could be held as soon as early December or as late as the middle of 2018. Party committees will select nominees, and given Democrats’ strong showings in similarly red districts earlier this year, both parties will have no choice but to take the race seriously.

Bottom line: this is very tough territory for Democrats. But it’s not impossible, and the combination of a pro-Democratic national climate and the fallout from Murphy’s ignominious personal behavior makes this special election potentially competitive.
This may still be a long shot but it’s one worth fighting over.

Note on his facebook campaign page:

      https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?id=176507322721102&story_fbid=359698711068628

… Yet as our candidacies were never legitimized by state Democratic powerbrokers (we suspect because of our progressive backgrounds and support for Bernie Sanders), “raising lots of money” in the traditional manner was impossible. Thus, we were left to experiment on our own. In the end, only one of us, Mal Hyman, raised nearly $100,000—though he contributed personal funds to reach this level.

Sounds like South Carolinians need to encourage Dmitri Cherny and Arik Bjorn to run again in 2016 who were both decent progressives.  Heck, Dmitri even has a Bernie tattoo!  Check this out!

      31. Add Aaron Godfrey for Ohio district 16

Looking at his campaign page, at the top he’s showing some good support for Bernie there.  He’s the only Democrat running against Renacci who’s retiring to run for governor, so Republicans are said to be spending a lot of money on this race for a successor.  He needs support.

Mundy, who ran for the seat as a Bernie supporter in last election and lost, says that Aaron might have a tough time without a lot of resources.  Sounds like we need to help amplify his campaign if he’s the only Democrat and has Bernie on his mind!

      http://www.cleveland.com/open/index.ssf/2017/08/lawmakers_end_cash_assistance.html

“Personally, I would rather see someone else run who’s younger who might be smarter and have more money,” Mundy, a 67-year-old legal research and delivery service owner from Parma, told cleveland.com’s Jeremy Pelzer. “But right now, I don’t see anyone else stepping up to run in the 16th District.”

Political novice Aaron Godfrey, a physicist from North Olmsted, is the only Democrat to formally enter the race so far. Mundy said he’s worried Godfrey would be “eaten alive” in a general election.

Even if a viable Democrat does enter the race, Mundy said, he would continue running with the idea that a Democratic primary would bring more media attention to that candidate.

Mundy, who got involved in politics through Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign last year, said he has little chance of winning the heavily Republican district. With Renacci running for governor in 2018, former Senate Majority Leader Tom Patton and state Rep. Christina Hagan are squaring off in the GOP primary. (h/t Jeremy Pelzer)”
