UPDATE: Standoff in Bellevue neighborhood ends peacefully (our neighborhood)

UPDATE: BELLEVUE, Neb. (WOWT) — A nearly two hour standoff in a Bellevue neighborhood ended without incident Tuesday afternoon.
Officers were called to an area near 800 block of Kountze Memorial Drive Tuesday just before 3 p.m. for a reported barricaded suspect.The incident began after family called for a welfare check of 35-year-old Colin Kingsley.
Believing Kingsley was in danger, officers forced entry to the home. Kingsley was found armed with a rifle. He refused to follow directions given by officers. The officers left the home and set a perimeter around the residence. Bellevue police blocked off the area and neighbors were asked to leave the immediate area.
Officers on scene said at one point Kingsley was using a saw to build a structure to barricade himself inside his garage. Officers continued attempts to communicate with Kingsley were unsuccessful. The South Area Metro SWAT Team was called to assist.
A Bellevue Police Negotiator was able to make phone contact with Kingsley and he was taken into custody without further incident.
