Rights aren't rights if someone can take them away. They're privileges.
That's all we've ever had in this country, is a bill of temporary privileges.

This is part of why my wife and I aren’t taking our annual July travel vacation (half way across the country) which is either a 2 and a half hour airline flight, or a two-days drive. We’ve only traveled to and from work, and to the grocery store, for the past three+ months.

the hell would fly in an enclosed airplane cabin with recycled COVID-19 floating around in the air? That’s insane! Social Distancing or not. It’s a death wish.

Besides that, I stopped flying 3 years ago after I was tested for fucking bomb residue! 🤬Never again.

Although some professors are saying, and being quoted:  Today’s planes recirculate the cabin air through HEPA filters which will capture particles including bacteria and viruses:

That’s probably a lie or omission of anything like what percentage they capture of what size, and how that might reduce the risk when sitting mouth-adjacent to some highly contagious human.

It’s a little anecdotal but I note a high correlation (pre- Covid times)  of common cold and such showing up shortly after flights on modern airlines.  The random sample is myself and friends and family.  Of course being in crowded airports as a necessity to get on crowded planes doesn’t help.

Bad enough they had people within three feet of each other, but now they’ll be within three inches! And Canada’s Liberal Government with the Vichy Dems’ beloved Trudeau shrug their shoulders and say there’s nothing they can do.

Which is a brazen lie. If the NDP has any sense they’ll get nasty about this and condemn Trudeau for being the corrupt neoliberal asshole that he is. But I’ve seldom seen the necessary political killer instinct from that party. Just saying they can make huge gains if they play this right.

Three years ago I travelled from LA to Venice. Someone on that flight was sick and shared the joy through the recycled air. I was as sick as I’ve ever been. I couldn’t stop coughing and wheezing for weeks. The thing ended in a massive case of hives. A while after that my husband traveled from LA to Florida on business. His seat was wet. He suspected someone had recently peed into it. He came down with a horrific rash that lingered for weeks and required steroids to clear up. It will be a long time before I ever climb aboard another aircraft.
