(CNN)A 13-year-old boy was seriously injured after being shot by a police officer in Salt Lake City on Friday night, according to his mother.

Golda Barton said that her son Linden Cameron, who has Asperger syndrome, experienced a “mental breakdown” earlier in the day. It had been her first day back at work in nearly a year, and Linden was having trouble coping, she confirmed to CNN in an email.
Barton also confirmed she called the police and asked for a crisis intervention team to help her manage the situation and get her son treatment.
“I said, ‘Look, he’s unarmed. He doesn’t have anything. He just gets mad and he starts yelling and screaming,'” Barton told CNN affiliate KUTV about her call to police. “He’s a kid he’s trying to get attention. He doesn’t know how to regulate.”

They hurt themselves when they don’t say anything about stories like this. The pigs shot a 13 year old boy, probably more than once. Come on. The pigs are dangerous to all of us who aren’t in the upper middle class or higher.

Is the same old shit.  “There will be an investigation, process…” And what that usually means is that nothing will really happen.  Nothing will change.  How the fuck can they say it was defensive when the kid was fucking running away?  They are cowards – and worse than cowards.

Yet, somehow, the politicians, police chiefs, attorneys and so on… Will still do nothing.  THAT is why there is looting and burning.  Not saying it is okay, or right, it isn’t.  I am saying though, that until the various goons are held accountable, none of that will change.  The BLM people know that – and so do most of us.

BLM should step up. Let’s see if they do.

A 13 year old boy. Probably weighed about 100 pounds, probably never been in a fight, but the burly boys were scared. Just FUCK THIS unless or until I hear the fucking cops were really threatened by a young teen. Sometimes I lie awake wondering if it would give me any satisfaction to start keying police cars or snipping tire valve stems.

These incidents concerning mentally impaired family members show how inadequate our social services are. A loved one is acting out, and the only recourse is to call untrained people with guns?

But only if they are using the weapons. There is something wrong with this picture.

One of the vastly under-reported aspects of the Occupy movement is that they regularly lent their support and numbers to other causes and in so doing established important strategic alliances. One example that comes to mind was in Baltimore where Occupy joined in solidarity with a group that was protesting the proposed building of a new prison. People who were fighting that prison were surprised, pleased, and ultimately grateful to see members from Occupy standing shoulder to shoulder with them. And I dare say that show of support shattered any previous media caricatures of Occupy.

Looking further back in history, one of the things that made the Civil Rights movement so potent was a strong alliance between the Jewish and African American communities. Is it any wonder that the PTB immediately worked to drive a wedge between these two groups?

“Divide and conquer” has been in the toolbox of the ruling elite for centuries. That’s because the prospect of solidarity and mutual aid scares the bejesus out of them. With good reason.

      has become a blood sport.

They shoot first, ask no questions.

IMCPO, cops supported open carry (Illinois State police supported it… and so did the two Illinois State police in my family – they’re RWers too) so they could use that as an excuse to kill people.

      ALL COPS EAT SHIT.

The mostly 35 and under group was all about workIng to improve and protect all people.  The were very specific about the way we target people in our society. Be you black, Latinos  asia , female, fat, or mentally or physically disabled.  These kid are amazing! We need to do what ever we can to support them

I mean, seriously.  If it had been my son shot by those fucking pigs…

Do you think that the system we have in place will deal with it?  Law enforcement, such as it is, is the problem.  I am not suggesting anyone in particular should be harmed – but for myself, I will have something to defend myself with.  What do you do when cops shoot your kid who was running away?  Call the cops?  No doubt there will be an investigation – there always is – and the fuckers always get away with it.

The problem is getting worse – and all of these unarmed people getting shot by thugs, bullies and cowards proves it.  Protesters shot and killed, cops and feds infiltrating groups to make it look like the protesters are doing the shooting.

People have had enough.  So, yes, I do think part of the solution is for people to arm themselves.  There are no strict gun controls in this Country that work – every cop is armed.  Every right wing militia nut is armed.  I have no intention of dying unarmed like so many have.

They aren’t leaving us with much choice.  I’m not going to turn the other cheek.  Some assholes wants to shoot at me or my family?  Then I am damn well going to shoot back.

many of the first activists on the scene where those affiliated to this day with BLM. The activists were not necessarily POC themselves, but were perennial supporters of a broad array of justice issues.

When friends ask why there is not the outcry when white people are gunned down I point out that with communities of color they are much more prepared to jump into action/protest because the remnants of previous movements still exist and can be quickly reactivated.

Any attempt to disarm the workers must be frustrated, by force if necessary. —Karl Marx

Power give up nothing without only a demand, but at least the threat of force to back that demand. It never has and never will. Even the suffragettes broke windows.

@beeninthewoods The reason their leadership won’t say anything about this is because they’re told, or paid, not to. They want to keep BLM channeled into a narrow, racialist channel that their financiers can control. If the movement reaches out and becomes something greater, like a movement to abolish and replace the current policing and legal system that is rigged against all working class people, those wealthy donors would lose control.

They could at least make statements on stories like this, but they don’t, and won’t. There are Machiavellian reasons for that.

Not too long ago I was completely against guns, I’ve been threatened with one before.  Guy was a douche bag bounty hunter up here chasing an escaped convict.  He was pissed off because one of the house keepers at the hotel I worked at had left his door open.

He yelled, threatened, cussed me out, all with his hand on his gun across the desk.  Scared the shit out of me.  Some time after, the more I thought about it the more I got angry.  Bullies don’t change much, whether it is middle school or adult – difference is, the adults tend to have guns.

“Standing up to them” without one is a good way to get shot.  I don’t know, I never agreed with gun policy in this Country, but at this point, i feel foolish for not having one.  Probably going to get a handgun, take the safety course and all that first, spend some time at the range.

I don’t want to hurt anyone, but I want to be able to defend myself.  Seems that requires a gun these days.
