AOC: Organize

We just pay attention at election time, then go back to sleep till next time.
Now is the time to start working on the next election. Not 18 months from now.

Nope.  And done.  And Enough.  I also look quite askance at anyone who pushes organizing within the party.  The party has that handled.

Well AOC, if you feel you have been burned by Vichy Dems as an insider, imagine how Bernie supporters feel as outsiders. 2016 and 2020 were enough to convince many that the DNC DLC DSCC DCCC Third Way donors and defenders are never to be trusted again.

2016 bernie loses california primary because of latinx vote as AOC was tending bar. 2020 bernie wins califonia primary because AOC indorse sanders for president. Congressional district in south texas that voted for clinton in 2016 votes for trump in 2020 as trump campaign runs ads in spanish on the shabby way AOC was treated at the convention. She has support of latinx community. Leftist elitists want to fight over white bernie bros with green party. That is why the democrat party got rid of as many caucus primaries as possible so leftist elitists wouldn’t dominate the majority of democrats in the state as they did in 2016. Latinx/blacks want to take control of democrat party not leave it. Here in arizona rich white clinton/biden liberals are terrified that latinx will dominate democrat party here and prevent rich old liberal whites from winning primaries against young aocs! If you think the working class like union members prefer leftist elitists over trump or biden because bernie beat clinton in michigan and wisconsin primaries. That was hatred of clinton and her trade policies. Time spent not trying to take over the democratic party for latinx domination is time wasted. Look how easy the republican party was taken over by tea party/trump from donor class. When supreme court over turns obama care and roe vs wade discrediting biden, pelosi and schumer that is the time to strike asking the three stooges if they want cheese with that whine? Or will you be to busy whining your self about forming a fifth party to battle elitist mostly white millennials with the green party.

We can create a People’s Party and use it for organizing and action, at the same time working to change the Democratic Party.

These are complimentary strategies.

The Democratic Party will not allow any change if there isn’t another place for us to go.

We need to be nimble and co-ordinated.

@fugitivebirdie The Democrats have moved left before when there was another party to the left of them taking votes away; for that matter so have the Republicans a couple of times. The Populists and Progressives of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the Socialists, various left wing parties in the 60s…it can happen.

My main concerns are that everything is going to fall apart before that can happen again, or that most of that organizing energy will be directed within the Democratic Party where leftists will not be allowed to gain any real political power, as happened in both 2016 and 2020.
