This post is dedicated to @salemcourt , who has consistently predicted all of these developments here on JPR for a long time. In short, the foreign policy of the Biden Administration is giving every indication that it is going to be fucking disastrous. Let me count the ways.

On his first day, he sent additional American troops to the Syrian oil field that Trump had previously, and illegally, seized. Guido Guaido(CIA asset-VZ) was recognized by the Biden Administration as the legitimate ruler of Venezuela. (Fun fact: polls show popular support for Guaido among real live Venezuelans who actually live there has surged to 3%).

Joe Biden himself gave a foreign policy speech where he declared that America must reassert its place at “the head of the table,” that he would punish Russia for interfering in internal American affairs, and that he would not allow China to become the equal of the American Empire. Well, he didn’t say “Empire,” of course, but he may as well have. He sounds like a Roman Emperor preaching for war against Persia to the Roman Senate.

Speaking of Persia, the modern version of those people offered to re-enter the Five Party Agreement on Iranian uranium enrichment on the very reasonable condition that the United States, which broke the agreement in the first place, lift the Trump-imposed sanctions for six months. You know, as a gesture of good faith. Cyrus and Xerxes would have done much the same thing.

They probably thought, as many of us did, that Biden would do what he could to bring back that deal which was negotiated by his old boss, Barack Obama. Apparently, Raytheon’s profits are more important to Biden and the people telling him what to do than restoring one of the few positive legacies of the Holy O.

But what about Yemen? Well, Biden’s people are being very vague, and thus far Biden has refused to change Trump’s designation of the Houthis as a terrorist organization, in spite of UN requests for him to do so in order for food and medical supplies to get through to Houthi-controlled areas, which just happen to be where most Yemenis live. IOW, Joe Biden is continuing to let Yemenis die when he has the power to do something about it. The same can be said for all sanctions, of course, but Biden campaigned on ending the war in Yemen, and as long as that sanction is in place he is breaking that promise.

Where, oh where will Joe fuck up next? Spin the globe, where it stops, nobody knows.

I will say this about Iran. The Joint Chiefs refused Trump’s efforts to get into an Iran War for good, solid military reasons. None of those reasons have gone away, and in fact they have increased. The chances of thousands of American sailors dying in the first few hours of an invasion when their aircraft carrier gets sunk and when their planes get shot down are extremely high. The Joint Chiefs know this. It’s ironic, but our best hope of peace with Iran rests with the fucking Pentagon.

I know Biden’s people don’t think it can happen here, but that’s the kind of shit that sparks mutinies and revolutions. Getting into a war with a nation that has never attacked us(there was that Embassy thing, but we had installed the dictator the Iranian Revolution overthrew, so let’s be reasonable here), that is no threat to us, and getting American servicepeople killed in shipload lots while back home there is depression and a pandemic is a recipe for imperial disaster. I hear the echoes of the Soviets in Afghanistan, the British and French at Suez, the Romans and Persians waging pointless war after pointless war with each other; none of those imperial misadventures ended well for any of those empires or their ruling governments.

What a bunch of greedy cocksuckers we have running our foreign policy. Trump could not have done any worse.

      Hi ob,

All true and props to @salemcourt.  Any excuse to fire overpriced DOD weapons is a business opportunity for the Oligarchs, Corporations and Banks.  If that excuse means dead Americans, then so be it.  Like any arms pusher, the 1% understand that death and destruction is a profit opportunity.  More death and destruction, more profits.  Why should they care otherwise?  None of their sons or daughters will ever have to sacrifice.  As General Smedley Butler said so well many years ago “War is a Racket”.  Nothing has changed in the intervening years.

      In Butler’s own words:

I spent 33 years and four months in active military service and during that period I spent most of my time as a high class muscle man for Big Business, for Wall Street and the bankers. In short, I was a racketeer; a gangster for capitalism. I helped make Mexico and especially Tampico safe for American oil interests in 1914. I helped make Haiti and Cuba a decent place for the National City Bank boys to collect revenues in. I helped in the raping of half a dozen Central American republics for the benefit of Wall Street. I helped purify Nicaragua for the International Banking House of Brown Brothers in 1902–1912. I brought light to the Dominican Republic for the American sugar interests in 1916. I helped make Honduras right for the American fruit companies in 1903. In China in 1927 I helped see to it that Standard Oil went on its way unmolested. Looking back on it, I might have given Al Capone a few hints. The best he could do was to operate his racket in three districts. I operated on three continents.

Except for maybe the pace of bellicose imperialism. Biden’s and his handlers did all of this shit in less than three weeks. Looks like they’re in a hurry or something.

          Hi ob,

I suspect the hurry is a simple recognition that the only way to revive a dead economy is via massive war time spending.  Otherwise, the Vichy Dems know they are dead in 2022 if things are left as they stand now.  There is only so much money that can be given to millionaires and billionaires after which Main Street sees no economic benefit.  And cynically, the war drums and propaganda will hide all the unnecessary deaths, here and abroad, with Trumpets of Patriotism.  We have seen this story before and the script never changes.
