Bernie Sanders’s Loyal Voters Could Keep Him in Race for Months

Polls show Vermont senator’s base is more dedicated than that of any other 2020 Democrat
Bernie Sanders’s most adamant backers expect that he will be the Democratic nominee for president, but if it ends up looking like someone else may take that title, they want Mr. Sanders to put up a fight.
Mr. Sanders’s campaign has made it clear that to win the nomination, he would have to pull off an ambitious expansion of the electorate. His campaign says it is banking on turning out a coalition of young, working-class and minority voters.
But polls show the Vermont independent’s base is more loyal than that of any other 2020 Democrat, and in interviews over the last four months, Mr. Sanders’s supporters told The Wall Street Journal that they wouldn’t support any other candidate as long as he is running. Those backers—and his massive fundraising—mean that, unlike many of his rivals, Mr. Sanders might not need a marquee win in an early state to stay in the presidential race for months.
Some of Mr. Sanders’s supporters say he should keep running until July, even if that means Democrats will face a contested convention in Milwaukee.
“I just think that Bernie really is a once-in-a-lifetime candidate and that 2020 is too important to risk,” said Cory Ray, 25, a labor organizer from Bloomington, Ind.

It’s not an accident that they keep underestimating us. The media is already doing their best to underplay Bernie’s support, and I doubt that they will leave it at that.
When the going gets tough, the tough help each other.

If we are not in the streets of Milwaukee, they will steal it again. Make travel plans.

“Months”. Like, say, another 11 or 12.

I think once the primaries start and Bernie starts walking away with it, we can forget about a contested convention!

I will not support any other candidate under any circumstance. That’s the thing, IMO, the media has not figured out yet. They think we will all, however unhappy or disappointed, will vote blue no matter who. Nope.

It will be Bernie Sanders supporters who will decide who the president is in 2020. Either they vote Bernie in as the dem candidate, or Bernie loses/gets cheated in the primaries and too many of them refuse to vote for the neoliberal establishment choice, who then goes on to loses to the Orange Caligula as a result.
All governments lie to their citizen's, but only Americans believe theirs.

That reminds me of a call I got a few days ago. The
caller said he represented the DLC (were we not told
on SV that this organization did not exist anymore?!).
I told him “Bernie or bust!” However, he wanted me
to contribute at least $150 for their efforts on the state
level. I reminded him that I felt no obligation to a
cheating Dem party and in the end hung up on him.
Thus the Third Way is alive and well and searching
for money from independents!
