Jimmy Dore’s source is Open Secrets. All they did was to follow the money. AOC’s PAC has donated to corporatist Democrats opposed to the progressive policies she claims to support. I agree with Dore here: If you are a progressive and send AOC and the Squad your money, then you are a chump or a sucker. Take your pick. AOC’s nothing but another political con artist.

I gave her a $50 donation a couple hours ago because of the Fraud Squad comments and all the BS from the last several months.

I guess Sinema doesn’t inspire any outrage from him.

That’s just a fact. BTW, just because leftists won’t support AOC doesn’t mean we support Sinema, either. What’s the point of me feeling outrage over her when I knew she was a fraud from the very beginning?

I voted for Sinema in her first primary for the House of Representatives over the Bill Clinton & Obama endorsed candidate thinking she would have been more liberal but I was wrong. She could have been AOC before it was cool.

She worked on Ralph Nader’s campaign and was an anti-war protestor. She once called herself a “Prada Socialist”. Most people didn’t know who she is until she became a Senator.

in sending money to anyone now.  It is like having a favorite professional wrestler, IMO – all theater, only politicians can and will hurt us.  They get LOTS more money from the entities who really run things.  That “well, we tried, but were, as usual, out-voted.  But SEND MORE MONEY!!!!!!!!” shtick has gotten old and stale.  Not playing any more.

Everything I post is just my opinion, and, honestly, I would love to be wrong.

in those contests she’s doing the right thing to support D’s over R’s.

There’s NOTHING that specifies she must use the money donated in a particular way…

This is just another fucking smear. Jimmy must be bored.

Go to the website for her PAC, I forget the name, but Dore did. It says that all contributions will only be used to advance progressive candidates. So she’s lying to you and every other progressive out there sending her money.

That would piss me off and make me stop doing it, and should do so for anyone else who doesn’t like being conned.

She sold out in the beginning with bad votes on Wall Street and foreign policy but she was a very liberal member of the Arizona State Legislature.

I know all this because I live in her district which is now represented by Greg Stanton.

Go Sun Devils! (ASU is inside the district)

Who she is supposedly thinking of challenging in the primary for his NY Senate seat.

Schumer sometime gets called “Wall Street’s bag man” because he receives way more donations to his campaign from wealthy donors that he could ever need, so that he can donate some of it to other Senators who live in sparsely populated states. They feel grateful, presumably.

Democrat Chuck Schumer, one-man super PAC – The Washington Post

      https://www.jacobinmag.com/2016/11/chuck-schumer-bernie-sanders-financial-industry-fundraising/

Wall Street is by far the best looked after among Schumer’s business constituents. After taking $1 million from the hedge fund and private equity industry, Schumer killed Democratic efforts to double taxes on their profits, arguing the tax hike would spark an exodus of jobs from New York and the US and unfairly single out the industry. (For some perspective, the private equity industry paid out $1.1 trillion worth of profits to investors worldwide that year.)

Schumer was also one of twenty-seven Democrats who voted against a 2010 amendment to break up too-big-to-fail banks. When Massachusetts senator Elizabeth Warren expressed concerns about appointing as vice chair of the Federal Reserve a former Citigroup executive (a bank that already had its tentacles deep inside the Obama administration), Schumer replied that “three years at Citibank, I think, should be an asset rather than a liability.”

Last year, he proposed giving multinationals stashing profits overseas a tax break even larger than the one Obama suggested. Over the course of his career, Schumer has fought attempts to regulate credit-rating agencies, successfully halved the fees that Wall Street firms pay to the SEC, and helped repeal the Glass-Steagall Act on the basis that “we could find London or Frankfurt or years down the road Shanghai becoming the financial capital of the world.”

If AOC can show that she can raise money from not just the people that Schumer does, then her winning his Senate seat might look like a good thing to a lot of people. On the other hand, “what’s the hurry”, as Schumer lends experience and gravitas to the party, and his getting knocked off by AOC, while she is still so young and with an air of being an insurgent, might actually cause concern among the general electorate in the country.

I can imagine AOC “getting the talk” and left unhindered if she wanted to make a trial run against Schumer, as long as she didn’t defame him or the party in general. That could actually cause a good amount of fund raising for Schumer. If AOC performed well she could set herself up as a possible Schumer successor. But I doubt that he has plans to leave office while still in a vertical position. Not unless the Republicans regained a majority in the Senate, and looked to hold it for a while. Then he might consider moving on to a career befitting an elder statesman, which would be how he was seen.

So she is doing this instead. Jimmy doesn’t give the whole picture because he is propagandist.
