So keep kidding yourself if you think Biden is some kind of savior.  On day 1, they’ll start planning on cutting SS and Medicare and implementing “austerity” measures.  It’s what happens when elections are rigged, the “winner” gets to do whatever they want regardless of what they lied about doing during the “election”.

They’re all pretty much the same.

One good example is the Federal Communications Commission.  With Obama naming the commissioners, the FCC imposed the rule of net neutrality.  Once Trump got to fill vacancies with pro-industry people, there was a right-wing majority on the FCC, and it rescinded the rule of net neutrality.

Now let’s look at the Environmental Protection Agency.  The people who’ve filled the office of Administrator (the head of the agency) have Wikipedia bios, which I’ve linked here.  During Obama’s first term, the Administration was Lisa P. Jackson:

During her tenure as EPA Administrator, Jackson oversaw the development of stricter fuel efficiency standards and the EPA’s response to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill; authorized the recognition of carbon dioxide as a public health threat, granting the EPA authority to set new regulations regarding CO emissions; and proposed amending the National Ambient Air Quality Standards to set stricter smog pollution limits.

Jackson stepped down.  Obama’s next EPA Administrator was Gina McCarthy.  The notable action of her tenure was that she “finalized the Clean Power Plan under the Clean Air Act, seeking to reduce coal use pursuant to the Paris Agreement.”  Unfortunately, its implementation was stayed by vote of the Supreme Court.  (How did the votes line up?  If you need to ask, you haven’t been paying attention.  It was a 5-4 decision in which all the appointees of the despicable Vichy Dem corporatist Presidents voted in favor of protecting the environment, and all five Republican appointees voted in favor of big business, but, hey, there are no real differences between the two major parties.)

Jackson and McCarthy were both actual scientists, with Master’s degrees in chemical engineering (Jackson) and Environmental Health Engineering and Planning and Policy (McCarthy).  Trump’s first EPA Administrator was Scott Pruitt, a nonscientist (lawyer) whose chief “credential” was that, as Attorney General of Oklahoma, he had sued the EPA 13 times to try to overturn pro-environment regulations.  He was succeeded by Andrew R. Wheeler.  Wheeler was another nonscientist (he had a J.D. and an M.B.A.), who had worked as a lobbyist for the coal industry.

These examples could be multiplied across the board.  In every important area that I can think of, Trump’s appointees are significantly worse than Obama’s.

Biden is, like Obama, from the more conservative wing of the Democratic Party.  There’s no reason to believe that the characteristics of Biden’s appointees would be substantially different from those of Obama’s.

Your post illuminates the best reason, perhaps the only reason, to vote for Biden. He would not intentionally wreck the government. Agencies such as the EPA would still have some power to protect the public against corporate greed. A Biden government would allow the federal bureaucracy to intervene on the public’s behalf once in a while. Agency administrators would side with corporations maybe 80 percent of the time instead of 100.

The promise of a return to a corrupt Obama Administration is insufficient to make me vote for a Democrat. Any Democrat. They’ve lost me forever.

If you want to talk specifically about the standard of living of the working class, and you interpret that phrase in narrowly economic terms, the first two points that occur to me are: the Obama stimulus plan, which created or saved from one million to three million jobs; and, since this thread is about appointments, the composition of the National Labor Relations Board, which under Trump has made it harder for working people to unionize.

If we were to get into a discussion about how the stimulus (i.e., the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009) could have been much better, then you and I would probably find much to agree on.  I’m not comparing it to the ideal; I’m comparing it to what someone like Bush or McCain would have done.  There are real people in the working class and barely middle class whose standard of living was significantly better because a Democrat won the election.

Because of the pandemic, we can now go beyond ideology and add basic competence.  There are real people in the working class and barely middle class who would be better off if Hillary Clinton had become President or even if someone like John Kasich had become President, but who are now ill or even dead because Trump became President.

All of Obama’s alleged great accomplishments consisted of tiny Main Street goals and gargantuan Wall Street greed feeds. Lisa Jackson improved fuel efficiency standards.  Good.  Some good.  Small good.  Baby good.  Still.  Good.   But wait, what’s that?   She handled the EPA response to the Deep Water Horizon?  OK.   That was Bad.  Giant Bad.  Sucky … sucky … bad.  The amount of Corexit that was spewed on the Gulf of Mexico was Gigatons-Bad.  IF the mileage improvements were to be represented by something good in terms of scale, it would be akin to Flipper the dolphin while that which was allowed by Obama/Biden and their EPA to occur in the Gulf would be akin to Godzilla stomping Tokyo.  I would give up Flipper if we never had to deal with Godzilla.

That is the problem.  We have receipts of these two lying DOG-faced pony soldier scoundrels in office.  On issue after issue, they would pet the family dog and kiss the baby while stabbing Grandma in the eye with a broadsword and kicking Grandpa in the nuts with a cowboy boot.   And sure DJT would do all of the above, grab mom by the tits, and make a short fingered vulgarian pass at Sissy.  But, can we honestly say that Biden wouldn’t finger probe Sissy or try to play hide the corn pop with Mom?

So fuck Joe, Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, Tom Perez, Shumer, Pelosi AND TRUMP.  What they represent is a velvet-gloved Fascism while Trump is the iconic Caligula Fascist with a touch of NERO.   One is the concubine of the Bezos Billionaire crowd while the other is the Booty Call for the Dobbs/Cavuto grifter billionaires.  Currently those two camps are at war with Trump leading the NEO-CONs and Barack Obama manning the deep state NEO-LIBERAL wing of the Democratic Party.

It is also worth noting that the NET NEUTRALITY mantle was NOT initially the direction that telecom lobbyist Wheeler (OBama FCC guy) proposed.  It was only after a huge outcry, from the GATES and Google Billionaire Bitches who realized that they would not have much choice if the ISPs were allowed to “prioritize” net traffic; did Wheeler change his views.

It is my belief that Barack took the reigns of Treasury and the IRS and drove the ship of state over the dreams of the American 99% to pay for his wars and tax cuts he made permanent.  Then having done this, he backed the ship up and went back and forth over the broken roadkill that was the American Dream.  I mean, c’mon folks, how U gonna pay for Medicare when we have drones to purchase.  Here’s the deal fats,  Grandma can suck it.  Gimme a break,  this is America man … we can do anything.  And besides, our thoughts and prayers … Look, man …  wait … is my time up?

We have a fucked up choice currently and I’m afraid whichever way it goes, it will go badly.  We are being forced to choose between the guy who hired others to do his homework and never bothered to learn anything (President Forrest Trump) and the guy who never bothered to learn anything either but has spent his plastic existence prostituting himself to the malevolent benefactors of great wealth like Forrest Trump.

AND I’m afraid that most people (given the choices) will choose the bomb throwing carnival barker because at least he will certainly throw a few bombs at Sith Lord Clinton and her court.  As an aside, he will also strap with the NEO-liberals and demand the server emails.  And the public will rejoice (mistakenly) if and when Trump decides to do his impression of Kristallnacht.  It is the angry “Bern it all down” attitude of a populace that has been betrayed by the DNC, DSCC, DCCC, and all the shit floating in DC.  Since most of us don’t have stocks, hi-flying jobs, or McMansions, it really feels good when the Trump people start floating the idea of slapping the shit out of the NEO-liberals who have been betraying the common people of these United States for over 50 years.  Obama – You S-hole, I’m looking at you.  I know that four more years of that un-presidential Golem in the Casa Blanca might bring about some heartache and pain to Mr Shit-eating Grin.  Most of us think it would be a good thing.  Will Trump shit on us and tell us it’s raining chocolate bars.  Probably.   But you know who else will have to eat this chocolate?  That’s right, Mr. EAT YOUR PEAS, Mr. Pull yer pants up,  Mr. “I’m thirsty, I think I’ll refresh myself with this Flint water”,  Mr. “C’mon in, the water (and Corexit balls) are fine”.   Fuck his ass.  This loss is totally on his bombastic back-stabbing speech-giving ass.  Didn’t have to be this way Barack, ya bastid.  Didn’t have to be like this you horrendous prevaricator.  You could have/should have done your job.  We also (not just you) could have had nice things.  Instead we are sucking the escaped Bio-weapon that is Covid which was wrought with the OBSCENE pentagon budgets you signed as President OBAMA-Whore INC along with Joe the Plumber.  WE KNOW JOE – Joe don’t know me.  Good job ya Jagoffs.

          @sinmentirassinverguenza

You blame Obama for the oil spill because he “allowed” the drilling.  BP purchased the right to drill at that site during the George W. Bush administration.  I’m no expert on drilling law but I’ll hazard a guess that, when a company has made a contract with the federal government and has paid for the benefit it received, it’s hard for a new administration to change that.

Let’s also look at what happened after the spill.  Obama’s Department of Justice pursued a criminal case against BP.  The company took a guilty plea that included a fine of more than $4 billion.  (This was separate from the compensatory payments resulting from civil cases brought by private plaintiffs.)  Yeah, I’m sure Donald Trump and Bill Barr would’ve done exactly the same thing, what with their well-known dedication to the rule of law and their unwillingness to let big business get away with anything, absolutely they would have.

The Obama administration also imposed a moratorium on the issuing of new offshore drilling leases.  The would-be drillers challenged that action in court.  Unfortunately, the case was assigned to a judge appointed by Ronald Reagan, who — surprise, surprise — decided that it was time for a little judicial activism and overturned the Obama administration action.  I interpret the OP in this thread as referring to administrative appointments, but sometimes it also matters who gets to appoint the judges.

And that right there is the nub of the rub.   When we get “our guy” (who really is their guy) in there, he does the bidding of Mr Money because “the law” has his hands tied.  Of course, with Joe we know how he will busy those tied up hands.  But I digress (often as of late).   My disgust with the actions of this populist poser reaches new heights every damn day.   I was pissed every other day by this “fart smeller … er … smart feller” for 8 long years.  For eight long years I watched those around me hurting more and more.  It wasn’t until the very end of the administration that any push back occurred.  He touched the third rail (Social Security) in his grand bargain attempt with the “steely-eyed Granny starver”.  It failed.  But he should have been slapped harder, much much harder.  He should suffer the fate of Rostenkowski (also of/from Chicago machine politics) and spend time in the pokey for what he set about in Lybia and countless other abdications.  Hell, for his actions on DAPL alone he should be chased down the road like they did Dan after he attempted to screw the seniors.

Instead he fucked the next generation out of nice things just like he did us during his eight years of a presidency that generated throngs of poor, destitute, and homeless former Obama minions.  Is Trump hurting me and mine?  Sure he is.  Can it get worse?  Yes it will.  With either pussy-grabbing, racist, senior-abusing fuck.   And no amount of neoliberal lipstick with make that pig into Cheryl Tiegs.

Tell the Clinton tale to my dead mother who was refused chemo while Billie-Bob was President.  Tell the Obama tale to my brother who was sent to jail by Obama’s ICE shortly before he died.  Tell that incrementalist bullshit about Kamala to Graham Elwood who lost his house to Mnuchin.  Tell that tale to the millions of people affected worldwide by Barack’s Nobel peace bombs.  Just don’t shit on me and tell me it’s chocolate.   Both sides of the 1% think their shit don’t stink and sites like these remind the bastards that – “OH YEAH! Your shit stinks, your breath stinks, AND your politics stink”.  Instead of apologizing for these cash piles of evil, we should be sharing facts about what went on during those feckless eight years of Hussein in the House.

We know about the “let the eat police batons” attitude towards Occupy.  We also know about the “let them eat bullets” attitude regarding police violence.  We also know about his man-servant attitude he had towards Mitch even after he fucked  him out of a Garland appointment (and countless other sleights).  What we don’t know is how much this grandson of a bankster used the IRS to harass his opponents on the left and balance the books on the backs of the 99%.  As I keep saying repeatedly – there is a reason that the “are you in trouble with the IRS” ads were plentiful during these eight years of such perfect centrist nirvana that we got a comic spectacle of a vulgarian for POTUS.  The former POS used car salesman Obama brought us this fetid POTUS; and with his shit-eating grin, he continues to service the deep state oligarchy from his wine cave at Martha’s.   So if people again vote for the Orange Mandarin, perhaps its due to the baggage that Uncle Joe has strapped to his resume that probably equals the baggage Forest Trump has on his.

I get tired of Ds saying they have to act like and work with Rs and then attempt to blame Rs for all their problems.  Ds, especially DNC pigs like Biden are every bit as bad as Trump.  They will steal everything they can for their corporate masters and could care less about the American people.

fools who have absolutely no talent, ability, or qualifications to be in the positions they hold, except that they are all desperate to get on their knees and please Trump by performing fellatio on him, in order to prove their infinite, unquestionable, unswerving loyalty to him, unless he should fall out of power, in which case they will swarm over and eat him like starving cannibals competing among themselves for the best cut of meat.
