Nearly two-thirds of the money the Biden Cancer Initiative spent since its founding in 2017 went toward staff compensation and six-figure salaries for top executives. The group spent far less on efforts to eradicate cancer.
One of several nonprofits Joe Biden created following his tenure in the White House, the Biden Cancer Initiative paid top executives lavishly, with salaries comprising nearly 65 percent of its total expenditures. That is well above the 25 percent charity watchdogs recommend nonprofits spend on administrative overhead and fundraising costs combined.
The nonprofit raised and spent $4.8 million over its two years in operation, its 2017 and 2018 tax forms show. Slightly more than $3 million of that amount went to salaries, compensation, and benefits. At the same time, the group spent just $1.7 million on all of its other expenses. A bulk of this cash—$740,000—was poured into conferences, conventions, and meetings. It did not cut a single grant to any other group or foundation during its two-year run.

Chuckles – why should anyone be surprised given what we have learned about Joe in the last few months. Joe is just another Neo-Liberal huckster pandering to the 1%.

Biden is not a decent man. Not even in the same universe as decency. IMO, made money off of his son’s death. Sorry if that is harsh, but that is how I feel.

Joe is a truly despicable man, more loathsome Trump because precisely because he presents himself as as caring and honorable. Such deceit.
Trump is who he his; he doesn’t hide behind a phony facade of decency and honor. And for that alone, he is the lesser evil.

They lie with impunity. Everyone knows that.
Is it OK when it’s a lie we agree with?
Come on. There’s gotta be a better source.

Well, who else is going to cover anything negative about Biden?
Besides, the information is taken directly from the Biden Cancer Initiative’s publicly available tax forms which are linked to directly in the article. Not sure how anyone could miss it. A cursory glance shows the numbers to be accurate as far as I can tell, but feel free to look them over for yourself. It’s certainly possible that something was presented dishonestly. https://projects.propublica.org/nonprofits/display_990/821610708/01_2020_prefixes_81-82%2F821610708_201906_990_2020012817080669

Frankly, I have more than enough reasons to oppose Biden without embracing a right-wing news source with a dubious record for credibility.
I fully understand the dilemma we face when so much of the corporate media is in the tank for ByeDone.
That’s why I rarely follow corporate media sources and look for my news from publicly supported sources, such as Pacifica and Democracy Now. In addition, sources such as the Intercept, the Gray Zone, the Black Agenda Report, and even the Hill’s “Rising” are more likely to provide me with information I can trust without the baggage that comes from accepting anything Fox says.
In sum, I want to steer clear of the arbitrariness that comes from believing Fox when it’s convenient and blasting them as shamelessly biased when it’s not.

I used to wonder why wealthy & influential people had to establish their own foundations. If Joe Biden wants to fight cancer, why not raise money for the American Cancer Society? If Hillary Clinton wants to… whatever it is her foundation does… why not just give money to existing foundations that do those things? Because setting up your own non-profit allows you to hire your friends and pay them big salaries. More importantly, it allows you to mingle with big donors who can help you get elected and reelected. It functions as a shadow campaign organization, one that does not pay taxes. And its a big ego booster, of course. It’s a triple threat.

pay for their air travel, hotel rooms, and extravagant meals. All you have to do is mention the foundation to someone while on your “foundation business” trip. There are almost unlimited ways to game the system. I seem to recall an article a while back saying that Chelsea had even chastised Bill for going overboard on charging the Clinton Foundation for things it shouldn’t have been charged with but I can’t recall any details.

a custom-built 501(c)(3) “charity”, installing your spouse to run it, and overpaying them by as much as possible.
And some voters can’t understand why they have nobody representing them in the US Congress. FOLLOW. THE. MONEY. FOLKS.
And there is zero accountability. So, for example, like all progressives, you arrive in Congress a rookie, wanting to “fight the system!”, “power to the people!”, etc. But when you see the fortunes your veteran colleagues have amassed DURING their Congressional terms, … you get it. BUT (you tell yourself), with ME, I would do it DIFFERENTLY. I would use that money for GOOD. And voila, the well-tread path to absolute corruption has begun. You have to lie to yourself, too.

Nearly all of them in the Empire are as corrupt as fuck. This is piddly corruption compared to the Clintons and the American Red Cross, but is a good example of what good kleptocrats like the Bidens do.

Just another campaign slush fund for just another corrupt politician. Biden, Clinton, Trump, Obama, Bush, all seem the same to me.
