President Biden opened up about his conflict with the more progressive side of the Democratic Party, arguing in a recent interview that he encounters criticism for not embracing a socialist agenda.

“The progressives don’t like me because I’m not prepared to take on what I would say and they would say is a socialist agenda,” Biden told The New York Times this week.

Columnist David Brooks wrote that Biden was suspicious of generous college debt forgiveness and that people “who take the big risks to generate wealth should reap the big rewards.”

Those comments come as Biden faces pressure from within his party to adopt sweeping environmental and economic policies like the Green New Deal.

And don’t forget disrupting the money and gifts flowing into your bank account? After all, a few hours and some speeches can make you millions.

Could also be because he is too fucking stupid to understand what socialist actually means.  Could be because he supports the “trickle down” theory of economics that anyone with any amount of intellect and study can tell you is absurd.  Could be because he supports war and crimes of war.  Could be because he’s a damn liar and a coward.

No, we have plenty of reasons to dislike the prick.  If he is not challenged in a 2024 primary, i probably just won’t vote.  No point.

Either this bag of dicks, or a republican who would likely be even worse.  Don’t care.  They can fuck things up without my support.

Although “don’t like” is waaaay to mild for how I feel about him.

Also – why the fuckity fuck should I care what Biden thinks or whatever?  Why SHOULD I like him?  That’s a really lame and stupid concept, really.  And I most sincerely doubt Biden gives an actual fuck.  This is just posturing for his owners.  No more votes for Democrats or GOP.

His way has failed the 99% spectacularly and has left us with only a couple of years before full facism takes hold.

Plus he’s not a socialist, but supports the military, a truly socialist institution? Though his kind would probably privatize that as well.

      Dumb that one is.

I am a socialist, and don’t like Biden because he embraces exploitative capitalist policies like the Reagan Democrat he is. But that comment about people taking the biggest risks should get the biggest rewards is total bullshit. An industrial worker, a fast food worker, a teacher for that matter, all take bigger risks just doing their jobs than the investor class does just sitting there moving money around, or earning their money the old-fashioned way by inheritance(like Biden’s contemptible Fortunate Son, and Trump).

Nothing unexpected, of course. And I still disagree with Nina Turner: Biden’s bowl of shit is every bit as noxious as Trump’s as far as I, and the entire working class, are concerned.

… David Brooks cannot be expected to ask the obvious followup question for that statement: Who’s taking the bigger risk – the minimum-wage employees who won’t be able to afford food or rent if the company fails, or the CEO with the “golden parachute”?

Why must risking large sums of money be treated as more deserving of “big rewards” than risking your life and the lives of your children?

That’s all there is to it. Capital is more important than the lives of the people whose labor produces the capital in the first place, as far as capitalists are concerned. And if they buck the system, their shareholders will throw them out.

It would never occur to David Brooks to think in those Marxian terms. They are literally unthinkable for him, and probably for Biden as well.

Progressives are for the needs of the majority of the citizenry of our country and planet.

Capitalists instead are for their own personal needs.

      The two are diametrically opposed.

President Biden does not support the things which are supportive of the majority’s needs.

      He supports instead the capitalists.

We do not like him for that.

We also do not like him because he has a corrupt family and he is a senile old fart who holds the position of being the most powerful person on the planet.

For the record, with the exception of being a senile old fart, we did not like President Trump nor President Obama for most of the same reasons.
