(The Hill) The Biden administration formally rolled out its major immigration bill Thursday, introducing legislation that would give 11 million people a path to U.S. citizenship.

The bill, which will be shepherded by Rep. Linda Sanchez (D-Calif.) and Sen. Robert Menendez (D-N.J.) represents President Biden’s chance to deliver major changes to a system where both parties see a need for reform but are sharply divided on how to deliver it.

White House officials called the bill a chance to “reset and restart conversations on immigration reform,” labeling the bill as Biden’s “vision of what it takes to fix the system.”

But even with a Democrat-led Congress, passing an immigration bill will be a heavy lift given that Senate Democrats would need to secure 10 GOP votes to pass the bill through the regular legislative process.

This bill is doomed from the get-go and Democrats know it. It’ll never get 60 votes in the Senate. But don’t talk about Biden’s refusal to consider canceling student load debt, his escalation of wars against countries that never attacked us, his dismissal of raising the minimum wage, or his brazen lie about $2000 checks, or you are a bad person who is a racist who hates immigrants!

I support a variety of issues including fixing the immigration system. Obama was the “deporter-in-chief” and immigration activists pressured Biden on his record on this.

Joe Biden tells activist, ‘You should vote for Trump,’ over criticism of Obama deportations

      (Snip)

Biden responded, “No. I will not stop all deportations. I will prioritize deportations, only people who have committed a felony or serious crime.”

The activist, identified by a CNN reporter as Carlos Rojas, later continued by telling Biden he had volunteered for former President Barack Obama’s campaign in 2008, but was disheartened by the number of deportations during his presidency.

“The fact is that over those eight years, there were 3 million people that were deported and separated from their families,” Rojas said.

Cutting Rojas off, Biden said, “You should vote for Trump. You should vote for Trump.”
