      as White House Budget Chief.

      blech, blech,  blech

President-elect Joe Biden plans to nominate Neera Tanden, president and CEO of the liberal thinktank Center for American Progress, to serve as his first White House budget director, multiple people briefed on the plans told CBS News.

Two people familiar with the process also confirm the President-elect is expected to nominate Cecilia Rouse to chair the Council of Economic Advisers.

Rouse, 56, and Tanden, 50, would be the first women of color to serve in their roles, if confirmed. Tanden would be the first woman of color and the first South Asian American to lead the Office of Management and Budget. The office is responsible for an administration’s spending and policy plans — and everything from drafting a White House budget plan to writing arcane domestic policy and approving congressional testimony of most administration officials.

“Neera Tanden, who has an endless stream of disparaging comments about the Republican Senators’ whose votes she’ll need, stands zero chance of being confirmed,” tweeted Drew Brandewie, a spokesman for Republican Senator John Cornyn of Texas, on Sunday night.

Tanden is horrible, but I’m still not cool with the idea that the party that lost the election gets to stop the winner from governing. Because let’s face it, President McConnell is going to block whoever Biden picks for his cabinet.

candidates approved after the Opposing Team blocks progressives.   Would not be surprised to see Tanden approved and anyone else the least bit progressive blocked.  Or Tanden blocked and someone just as Vichy Dem, but more under the radar, approved.   “Golly, we WANTED progressives, but that bad old GOP would not let us do that!  But getting a Vichy Dem approved is a victory!!!!   Vote for the Blue!!!!!”.  And anyone who is not cynical about this is just not paying attention.  IMO.  Honestly, stepping out of the partisan bubble has been quite an eye-opener.   Will not be returning to that.     @nickxylas

Progressive, neoliberal, it doesn’t matter. And it gives the Democrats license to to the same the next time Republicans are in power. As Trevor Noah might say, that’s some Africa-level shit. The only good thing I can say about it is that it might finally shatter the illusion that America is a democracy. As you say, those who have been paying attention have known this for a long time, but hopefully it will now be plain for all to see.

This is no surprise. My only surprises will be mildly pleasant ones, such as Chief of Staff and Treasury, just because those people are at least intelligent. Vicious idiots like Tanden and Emmanuel are what I expect from Biden.

If she could only tick off that identity box too, she would have my full support.  As it is, she can go to hell.

From an article in _The Nation about the Center for American Progress.  It is really an organization of lobbyists, foreign money, everything you know that Bernie had to git out of the way of.  It’s so Clintonesque that Mr. Podesta was the former proprietor before Neera:

“…CAP doesn’t publicly disclose the members of its Business Alliance, but I obtained multiple internal lists from 2011 showing that dozens of major corporations had joined. The lists were prepared by Chris Belisle, who at the time served as the alliance’s senior manager after having been recruited from his prior position as manager of corporate relations at the US Chamber of Commerce. According to these lists, CAP’s donors included Comcast, Walmart, General Motors, Pacific Gas and Electric, General Electric, Boeing and Lockheed. ”

Probably just a small taste of its Govt. by the corporations, for the corporations alignment.
