A reserved Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Tuesday called on President Trump to tone down his combative approach to the national protests for racial justice that have followed the death of an unarmed black man in Minneapolis last week.
Clutching a Bible in the Capitol, Pelosi urged Trump to reach across the divides of race, party, region and religion to help the country heal instead.
“We would hope that the president of the United States would follow the lead of so many other presidents before him to be a healer-in-chief, and not a fanner of the flame,” she said.
This bible thing is getting out of hand or is everyone pandering to evangelicals?

I bet Fancy Nancy wasn’t clutching a bible when she refused to have a vote on Medicare for All or temporary UBI or mortgage and rent moratoriums. She’s following Trump’s lead, which makes her look weak to the same people to whom she is trying to pander. They know damned well she wouldn’t have done that if Trump hadn’t done it first.

Can anything Pelosi and Schumer say be taken seriously given their giveaways to the 1%?
More likely this is a symbolic show of support for Trump with words suggesting otherwise.
As should be obvious, America is dead and has been for a long, long time. Welcome to Fascist America.
Grief requires us to know the time we're in. The great enemy of grief is hope. Hope is the four-letter word for people who are unwilling to know things for what they are.
Our time requires us to be hope-free. To burn through the false choice of being hopeful and hopeless. They are two sides of the same con job. Grief is required to proceed.

Another rich asshole holding a book she either never read, or couldn’t understand. Or maybe just didnt give a shit about. I find the parts where Jesus speaks of the wealthy especially fascinating – for some reason the wealthy never seem to get past the old testament.
“Healing and unity” is code for “shut up and go home”. I think politicians – especially those of her ilk, should tread very carefully. These are not normal times – and people are hurting. Those responsible for their Nation’s infrastructure, healthcare, foreign policy and so on… are on very thin ice.
Perhaps it is finally time to throw them all out.

It’s a book about a vengeful god, a deity who smites people, turns them into pillars of salt, visits plagues on them, etc. I’m sure Trump, who believes has god-like power and authority, will take license to send in the troops to do some smiting. Dominate!
