Caitlin Johnstone: Democrats ignore US military’s refutation of ‘Russian bounties’ story

Caitlin Johnstone: Democrats ignore US military’s refutation of ‘Russian bounties’ story

      NBC News reports the following:

Two months after top Pentagon officials vowed to get to the bottom of whether the Russian government bribed the Taliban to kill American service members, the commander of troops in the region says a detailed review of all available intelligence has not been able to corroborate the existence of such a program.

“It just has not been proved to a level of certainty that satisfies me,” Gen. Frank McKenzie, commander of the U.S. Central Command, told NBC News. McKenzie oversees U.S. troops in Afghanistan. The U.S. continues to hunt for new information on the matter, he said.

“We continue to look for that evidence,” the general said. “I just haven’t seen it yet. But … it’s not a closed issue.”

McKenzie’s comments, reflecting a consensus view among military leaders, underscores the lack of certainty around a narrative that has been accepted as fact by Democrats and other Trump critics, including presidential nominee Joe Biden, who has cited Russian bounties in attacks on President Donald Trump.

They believe every word of it, lap it up like a Joe McCarthy enthusiast back in the 50s, and then get all pissed off when I compare them to that and say that I’m either stupid or a Russian dupe. Then they wonder why I won’t deal with them at all anymore.

I have a sense that Putin would bet on a collapsing stock market and panic buying at the stores compelling an American President to come down from whatever kind of limited shooting war with the Russians that had been arranged.

Especially if China sensibly figured that this signaled it was time to advance their plans in their region. After the conflict with Russia had everyone grateful to be alive there’d be less appetite to go toe to toe with China’s fleet.

there was seldom any discussion going on – like SV, it is all about lecturing.  Even the most insane claims are supported on social media, and polite requests for backup or documentation about them are requests that seem invisible – not accepted, not rejected, not addressed at all.

So, what is the point, for people who want the truth?  @ohiobarbarian

If that means I don’t ever again cross paths in social media with friends and acquaintances, that’s that.

      ..And I’m not crying.

Yeah,it really bothered me at first, and then I figured, why would I want to associate with anybody that dumb.Or anybody with that few critical thinking skills.

People that believe that stuff or any of its variants will believe anything.

She lost because she didn’t get enough votes where she needed them.

The same will be true of the loser in 2020.

Which is a damned good reason to have national primaries and abolish the Electoral College.
