What i mean by that is dumping this horrible forum software. I have had serious issues with this.

wordpress is the worst forum software. There are better softwares and i for one am willing to donate $$ towards real forum software.

I hate the censors and wish it removed.

Mobile version is BAD. Ive shown you the threaded that literally had it sideways.

Vbulletin or ProBoards are better software.

      Please go with them.

Didnt go through.  No swear words in it either.

Basically, I agree.  If we can move to a different setup without this headache, let’s do it.  I’ll pitch in for hosting software or whatever, too.  I know you staff members have been trying to resolve this – but maybe there is a simpler option?

because the old forum software was bad for many, and this forum software is bad for others (probably worse), and I know the admins are probably pulling their hair out. But I’ll gladly chip in a larger than usual donation if its required.

WordPress plugins were never meant to be used standalone but as adjuncts to a personal or business blog.  My reading on these plugins is not promising.

One downside of the current forum is that it presents poorly which will turn off many potential visitors.

One consequence of that downside is that over time the number of active members will drop steadily.

For a next version of the forum, I would suggest engaging a larger group of members to research a replacement.

I would also suggest engaging the community in theming (look and feel), testing and deployment.

Hope the overlords will take these suggestions under consideration instead of just limping along.

It’s difficult to read. The old format was much better. When I see some improvement I will give, but without changes I won’t be around for much longer.

+1….It’s awful on the eyes. And this is one place I would really hate to see die off.

It doesn’t make sense to me to chuck that and start over with another version that will break in ways I don’t care to deal with. I want to express myself and be able to navigate WITH EASE in this site.

My update for you, based on my faith in the administration here. Do as you must, meanwhile, but don’t forget to keep track as well all go to our prospective jobs (like me) today and wait to see what the admins say later.

As I said before, please try to hang in there!

Just wanted to say it, because I know it’s mostly ‘squeaky wheels’ who speak up.

(Not meaning to criticize you-all squeaky wheels; I agree the site needs work –  and about half my brilliant thoughts never make it to the light of day.  I just want to support the hamsters’ efforts.  Whatever the site looks like, I can deal with it.)

Aside:  Today a title-box-only reply of mine wouldn’t  go through.  But when I added a period in the text box, the gods were satisfied.

It doesn’t look good or function well. Articles are half the width of the page and comments squeeze down to illegibility within 3 layers of replies. It’s hard to use, doesn’t work well, and further work is most likely wasted effort. We should revert to 2.0 and look for better software.

because my software skills are so ancient.  But having said that, 2.0 was much better in legibility and posting.  I’ve already tried to make several cut and paste posts without success.  It has come to some ‘JPR neighbor’ reposting my attempts to post to get my content transmitted…..I don’t dare try a cut and paste from an article and add a link.  Have no idea what goes into wordpress and I have all the respect for the admins….  As much as I value the forum, I won’t continue to use it unless changes are made.

I am beginning to hate hamsters.  I have been unable to post half the time.
