The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s office has released their full and final autopsy report on the death of George Floyd, noting that he had tested positive for COVID-19, but it was not a contributing factor in his death.
In the report, the office’s final diagnoses states Floyd “became unresponsive while being restrained by law enforcement officers; he received emergency medical care in the field and subsequently in the Hennepin HealthCare (HHC) Emergency Department, but could not be resuscitated.”
The most notable detail in the final report is that Floyd had tested positive for COVID-19 on April 3. He was still asymptomatic after his death, but had “persistent positivity.”
The medical examiner’s office had issued an additional report on Monday, listing his manner of death is homicide due to “cardiopulmonary arrest complicating law enforcement subdual, restraint and neck compression.” The report also noted he had arteriosclerotic and hypertensive heart disease, fentanyl intoxication, and recent use of methamphetamine and cannabis.
He did not have symptoms from coronavirus. He appears to have been an asymptomatic spreader. But I imagine the defense will try to claim COVID-19 caused lung damage. So expect the defense to look at that.

So cutting off blood flow to the brain and putting intense pressure on one’s back making breathing difficult not to mention highly painful, none of that killed Floyd causing the cardiac event. No shit, never would have figured.

none of which mitigates what those cops did to him.
also, i understood there are 2 autopsies, 1 from the (biased) medical examiners office, one paid for by the (biased) floyd family.
i’ll take the results of both and see what they have in common.

Creating excuses for weak-minded jury members to say that the guy was so hopped up on drugs and also suffering from COVID, that the second-degree murder charge is not valid.

the cops were laying the ground for a ‘drugs’ explanation while they were choking him, repeatedly asking him what he was using when they had no way to know he was using anything when they took him out of the car. i don’t trust the report, too pat

My B-I-L was slated to have some procedure or another done and had to have a Covid 19 test. He wasn’t worried because he had been careful and had no symptoms. He tested positive. He ened his quarantine a couple of days ago completely without ever having had one symptom. His wife and father, who haven’t been tested, come out of quarantine in twelve days.
The thing is that many people have had totally asymptomatic Covid 19. It is possible that George Floyd never would have had symptoms. And since he had not symptoms, it is unlikely that Covid 19 had any impact on his death.

There is way too much to be revealed in discovery, and they will have really tough time finding a jury. The officers will be offered nice plea deals, do a minimum amount of time, and their cases like all the others will vanish down the memory hole.
