Chihuahua freezes to death in yard; another rescued

    By Kevin  Cole

An Omaha woman was ticketed Tuesday on suspicion of two counts of animal cruelty after a Chihuahua was found frozen in her backyard and another dog had to be rescued.
Maria S. Roubideaux, 24, was ticketed by animal control officers from the Nebraska Humane Society. A tip Tuesday night led the officers to her home at 5026 S. 18th St.
“Officers located two Chihuahuas on tethers in the backyard,” said Mark Langan, vice president of field operations for the shelter. “One dog was deceased. The tethers were tangled between a fence and pole, limiting the dogs’ ability to move. There was no shelter immediately available for the dogs.”

If convicted, Roubideaux faces up to six months in jail and a $500 fine on each count.

    2. Stupid people – the Chihauhua advisors say that no Chihuahua should be put out

side when the temperature is below 40 degrees. They cannot handle the weather and that is why so many owners use pads to train their dogs for inside life.

    3. Look how skinny the little guy is. I hope she gets the maximum,

which is nowhere near enough for what she did.
