Choices of Education Act of 2017-Privatization of the Children

Here comes the privatization of public education as a result of Bill Clinton’s FAIR, federal public law, from back in the late 1990’s.  The public should be made aware of this terrible down grade in their child’s education, in their child’s life.  I hope that GAWD will stop this as the responsibility for our children belong to us all.

This bill will voucherize federal education funding leading to mass privatization and the collapse of the public school.  It will destroy the civil rights of students with disabilities.  Americans should be outraged.

This bill will destroy the nutritional standards for healthy food to be served at schools so private food corporations can make the choices of what foods are served (if you can call a diet of mostley white flour proper food).  With America having 50% poverty how will our children be able to develop a thinking brain without enough proteins, fruits, whole grains, vegetables and vitamins?  They will eat 2 of their 3 meals a day at school.

    1. It's awful …

This bill will implement a school voucher system for children ages 5-17, and begins the defunding process of public schools.

In addition the bill will ELIMINATE the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA), which is the nation’s educational law and provides equal opportunity in education.

ESEA is a comprehensive program that has covered programs for struggling learners, AP classes, ESL classes, classes for minorities such as Native Americans, Rural Education, Education for the Homeless, School Safety (Gun-Free schools), Monitoring and Compliance and Federal Accountability Programs.

The bill also abolishes the Nutritional Act of 2012 (No Hungry Kids Act) which provides nutritional standards in school breakfast and lunch.

The bill has no wording whatsoever protecting special needs kids, no mention of IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Act) or the right to free and appropriate public education.

Some things ESEA has guaranteed for Children with Disabilities that are in jeopardy:

-Ensured access to the general education curriculum.

-Ensured access to accommodations on assessments.

-Ensured concepts of Universal Design for Learning

-Included provisions that require local education agencies to provide evidence-based interventions in schools with consistently underperforming subgroups.

-Required states in Title I plans to address how they will improve conditions for learning including reducing incidents of bullying and harassment in schools, overuse of discipline practices and reduce the use of aversive behavioral interventions (such as restraints and seclusion).

Please JPR members, please call your representative and ask him/her to vote NO on House Bill 610 (HR 610).  Our children’s futures depend on killing this bill.

      2. Thanks Scuba. We need to refer to all of the effects this terrible law will

have on our country.  This law will directly lead to a life expectancy of about 45 years of age.  I believe that they would even be so low as to bottle up FlintWater and sell it to the schools as a broth mixture.  I am saying and believe that a sorry brain structure due to toxins and no protein will create children with both irregular thinking and physical deficits.

      3. +100 except the defunding process began long ago, since bush at least and

      maybe clinton

they always start small and build up a contingency of stakeholders — people who work for privatized entities, people who benefit — so when the whip comes down it will have support of ordinary people
