Chris Rock criticizes Pelosi and Democrats on pandemic, compares Trump to 5-year-old
By Joe Concha – 09/17/20 10:12 AM EDT
“It was totally up to Pelosi and the Democrats. Their thing was, ‘We’re going to get him impeached,’ which was never going to happen. You let the pandemic come in. Yes, we can blame Trump, but he’s really the 5-year-old,” Rock told The New York Times in an interview published Thursday.
Rock compared Trump to the main character in “The Last Emperor,” a child who becomes the ruler of China.
“Did you ever see that movie “The Last Emperor,” where like a 5-year-old is the emperor of China? There’s a kid and he’s the king. So I’m like, it’s all the Democrats’ fault. Because you knew that the emperor was 5 years old,” Rock said. “And when the emperor’s 5 years old, they only lead in theory. There’s usually an adult who’s like, ‘OK, this is what we’re really going to do.’”
Trump has always just been a damn figure-head. He talks, but in essence he can’t really do much unless they give in.
In fact the Democrats pretty much gave him what he wants in the Border Wall, Defense Spending, and many other things that they say they don’t agree with, yet fight for nonetheless.
He is right, the Pandemic in China was going on from 2/3s of 2019 and they frittered it away in a stupid Ukraine/Russian/Impeachment matter that gets overturned any way. It was pointless political theater, when there were many other atrocities going on. The reason they did not focus on those is because in the end, they are complicit to them any way.
Then in March when they gave Wall Street 30 Trillion through the Fed to keep the stock market afloat which was sinking at the time, they only gave us crumbs. For which Pelosi says that “State Funding” and other very important matters will go on the next bill. Which obviously will not happen. The only time they can push something like that is if the rich were hurting too. Once they get their money, they don’t care at all.
I can’t call this a failure since that was by design. That is just corruption while trying to pacify the DUmbasses who will defend her any way.

Trump may be like a 5 year old but he still has a lot of power. Learning what ICE has been during under him has been horrific. Trump has a lot of power and if he is a figure head it is for McConnell and the Republican establishment.
I also blame Trump for his own impeachment.

Whenever there’s a lull in the action they’ll attack the person standing closest to them. After all, it’s a fighting game and no one real ever gets hurt in a game, right? But his point about Pelosi et all is absolutely right. They are the adults. Even though they are not really calling the shots it’s their responsability to see to it that the 5 yr old behaves.

@JonLP Had they went for emoluments, I may have agreed. What they did was dumb as hell.
Not only did it look like whiny kids just deflecting for Hillary’s loss they created an extremely bad precedent where a sitting President can now be impeached for not indulging Congress for any and all inquiries. Congress even a Republican one can now create some sort of made-up matter and subject a President to extremely probing investigations and then impeach them for saying “Bring me to court”. This can be for ANYTHING… and you know Republicans will do just that. That escalation was crazy.
The fact is, the Democrats went for extraneous matters that are purely political rather than doing their job for the people. It is why there is barely any trust given towards them.
They concentrated on those, rather than what is important, which was jobs, health care, and the incoming pandemic(they are still failing till now.)
There is a lot of blame towards Trump, but they definitely share the blame.
