“This is how it happens, Biden wins,” he began. “I don’t just mean the popular vote, he wins the key swing states, he wins the electoral college. President Trump says there’s been Chinese interference in the election. He’s been talking about Biden’s soft on China — China wanted Biden to win so he says a national emergency; the Chinese have intervened in the election.”

“Why do I think that’s real?” he continued. “Just ten days ago he tweeted, he actually tweeted, ‘rigged 2020 election,’ millions of mail-in ballots will be printed by foreign countries it will be the scandal of our times. so he’s laying the groundwork for this. So he does an investigation and [Attorney General Bill] Barr backs this up with all kinds of legal opinions about emergency powers that the president has.”

“Then what happens is it’s all geared towards December 14th. Why December 14th? Well, that’s the deadline when the electors of the states have to be chosen,” he elaborated. “Why is that key? Because that’s what the Supreme Court used in Bush v. Gore to cut off the Florida counting. They keep this national emergency investigation going through December 14th. Biden, of course, challenges this in the courts and says, ‘hey, we won these states, I want the electors that favored me named. The Supreme Court doesn’t throw the election to the republicans as it did in 2000, instead it says, ‘look, there’s a deadline here.’ If they can’t be certified in these states because of this investigation going on, there’s a constitutional process for this.”

“What’s the constitutional process? It goes to the House of Representatives,” Roger continued. “Everybody says, ‘that’s good. Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats control the House. No. when a presidential election is thrown into the House of Representatives under the Constitution, it’s state-by-state vote. each state gets one vote based on the number of Republicans and Democrats in that delegation. Today Republicans control the House on that kind of vote it 26-23 with on delegation, Pennsylvania split. Even if Pennsylvania was to elect a Democratic delegation, come this new election because it’s the new Congress that votes here, it would be 26 to 24 Republicans and Trump retains the presidency.”

      Hi rs,

All interesting speculation and good fodder for the anyone but Trump Russia Gate conspirators.  While Trump supposedly does not take defeat well, has anyone considered the possibility that he is just plain tired, dazed and confused.  Maybe he will bristle at a loss while secretly thanking his lucky stars for an excuse to leave the oval office.  In reality, what does he personally have to gain at this point.  Four more years as president certainly will not improve his reputation or his wealth.  At best, he would be defending his pride.  At worst, he could be broken and defeated after two terms.  This all the more true if the election is nullified via constitutional technicalities.  Public rage would then be past inflammatory virtually guaranteeing civil war.  Something the republican establishment surely sees as self defeating.  One suspects cooler heads would prevail on both sides of the political divide since maintaining the illusion of democracy is central to the 1% and their hegemony.  As the song says, “Know when to hold ’em and know when to fold ’em.”

It won’t happen. Do you really think the Republican establishment cares that much whether or not Trump wins? They don’t. They despise him almost as much as you do. They won’t back him and, if for some reason they did, the Chief Justice won’t back him. If for some reason Roberts did, the military won’t.

      Ain’t gonna happen.

But the existence of “the Lincoln Project” and other such groups pretty much verifies the fact that all Republicans except for the Bircher fascist fringe types are perfectly fine with Dementia Joe as President. And why wouldn’t they be? He’s been on THEIR side of every significant issue for his entire political career.

Really, some hilarious reasoning and comments….

Best comment – “Ridiculous threads like this were all over DU about George Bush. Let’s not be DU.”     Bwahahahaha!  Out of the mouths of Freepers!

VP Pense made a big speech at the First Baptist Church of Dallas (in Downtown Dallas,  June 28,2020).

Seems Pense might be the new cornerstone of America.  Is all moving to Pense, with a Trump resignation?  Would it be through the same cabal that removed JFK?  Many used to pray that God would allow Obama to die in office.

Have the Chinese hack the voting machines so that Biden wins, then claim “Russian interference” and some pretzel logic to dispute Republican denials and install Biden. Then he will cite Alzheimer’s and his VP will declare herself President For Life… er, I mean until the election can be guaranteed, like maybe in 2124 or … oh hell, after we rebuild from WW3.

Trump is a puppet and it wouldn’t be his “plan”.  Maybe his wish, but couldn’t come up with a plan.

Having said that, IMHO the end game of capitalism our government would see us move to a dictatorship.  When the people start rioting in the street, a dictatorship would be viewed by the PTB as the best way to handle it.  We aren’t far now, as the DEmocratic party has all but died.  But this might not be the time and Trump might not be the one.

It would be kinda funny if Trump used foreign interference in American elections against the democrats to try and stay in office!

are the stupidest, most ignorant/misinformed, poorly educated, semi literate group of people in the country.

These simple minded Fox News/Rush Limbaugh brainwashed idiots elected Trump, and still support him, even during a pandemic that Trump called a hoax, and after all the rotten things he has done to the people of this country.

      We can’t fix stupid.

Trump is going to lose the election, and, he is still impeached.

      Poor Donald.

@ravensong And liberal Vote Blue No Matter Who types are the most ignorant/misinformed, best educated, literate group of people in the country who are about to elect a man who didn’t think that Ronald Reagan was conservative enough.

And sure, you are right about Freepers – and I consider those who sabotaged Bernie and shilled for Hillary and are shilling for Biden, saying either of them would be better for us, are in the same low category.   Larry Summers and Jamie Dimon in the cabinet.  LOVES war and austerity.  Will veto M4A if it should somehow get past Pelosi and Schumer.  Zeke “no life-prolonging health care after 75” Emanuel on the COVID committee.  Has wanted to cut Social Security for a long time.  Engineered legislation that keeps people in debt.    IMO even a Freeper would not vote for that.  I sure will not.  This is just the usual fear-mongering, that is all that it is.

As long as we are not stupid enough to get rid of the Electoral College it would be almost impossible to steal a Presidential Election. The Founding Fathers gave us the Electoral College for reasons just like this. They could have no idea what technology would exist in the future or what kind of nut jobs would hold elected office, but the Electoral College can put the brakes on silly plots and schemes like this.

The national emergency only has to last 5-6 weeks until the EC vote.  Without the EC, the national emergency would have to last 2.5 months.

Founding Fathers created the EC because it was impractical at the time to negotiate a compromise over long distances.  Yes, there were elitists among them that thought the common man wasn’t intelligent enough to vote.  But they had to solve the distance problem anyway.

And the election of a birther in 2016 is proof that the elitists were wrong.  The EC failed to protect us from absolute stupidity on the part of the common man.

to the Liberal Establishment, achieved some wonderful conservative goals, but was finally cheated out of a second term by massive voter fraud and the collusion of the Fake Liberal News Media.

There are millions billions of dollars to be made as a RW martyr. Normally FOX and OAN have to quote RW congressmen and discredited conspiracy theorists. Imagine their glee at the prospect of having a past president to interview everyday.

Plus he does not really seem to have a plan for what to do in a second term anyway.

They are called 'human' rights not "if politicians do not feel threatened" rights. Many politicians see national sovereignty/security as more important because they protect their power and wealth. Human rights often do just the opposite.

National issues (slavery/racism, income inequality, pandemics and pathetic health care, weak unions) are not solved with more states' rights. Global problems (climate change, migration, trade, war, pandemics) are not resolved with more national sovereignty.

Hillary is already gleefully responsible for so many deaths overseas; also, the CEO of Blackstone Group was desolate because Hillary was going to take an extra 3% from everyone’s paycheck and give it to Blackstone Group to gamble with, to take fees from, to socialize the losses and most likely keep a part of the gains as a reward.  First step in dismantling Social Security, which Bill was unable to do because of his wandering penis.  And Bill was going to work on “the economy”, Hillary said.  Doubties for our benefit, as usual.  So thank goodness for the EC – wonder if we would be at war with Russia yet.  And Hillary is STILL shrill and vengeful after her loss.  Not presidential material, not at all.  None of the Vichy Dems are.

Let’s just say that their candidates have fared better using the EC. It overweights the impact of conservative voters.

Conservatives worry that in a popular vote scenario the millions of votes from liberals on the West and East (other than in the SouthEast) coasts would swamp the conservative votes in the MidWest and Mountain states. That is just too much ‘democracy’ for anyone’s good. 🙂

And as the demography of the nation continues to evolve towards a majority-minority, overweighting the votes of older, whiter, more conservative voters is key to the GOP’s chances of success in the near future.
