(The Hill) Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) held talks on Thursday about reaching a COVID-19 relief deal before Christmas, with both expressing a desire to quickly pass legislation, according to a senior aide to Pelosi.

“The Speaker and Leader McConnell spoke at 12:45 p.m. today by phone about their shared commitment to completing an omnibus and COVID relief as soon as possible,” Drew Hammill, a spokesman for Pelosi, said Thursday afternoon.

Earlier in the day, Pelosi told reporters “we will have an agreement” on coronavirus package funding by Dec. 11, the date government funding is set to expire.

McConnell told reporters Tuesday that additional COVID-19 relief funding would likely be added to the expected $1.4 trillion omnibus spending package that would fund the federal government beyond Dec. 11 through fiscal 2021, which ends on Sept. 30.

I am sure McConnell’s and Pelosi’s lunchtime phone conversation was a friendly one about what dupes the American Public are.

Do not count on anything being done for the next five years with this group.

I guess this is supposed to put our little minds at ease.

It didn’t work, because I still think the two of them are duplicitous and despicable, and that whatever they have planned, will not be good for the health of our society.

Or will Amazon and Walmart get subsidies to make up for people not being able to buy at Christmas.  That spike in spending is counted on.  And if people can’t spend, workers will not be hired, or will be let go early.

        Boycott Amazon!

I would like to remind you that U.S. health insurance companies do not contribute anything to health care. They are only a PARASITIC middle man receiving an undeserved cut of "FREE MONEY".

So turtle boy will probably get his liability shield in exchange for funds for states.  At least, that’s what I am getting from this.

I wonder what would happen if they let the people vote on their stimulus deal…

So much that should have been done months ago… And now they are going to “make a deal” for liability shields and state funding – maybe just in time to avoid a shutdown.

Guess we will see.  Looks like shit to me though.

There’s aid to state and local governments, so my pay might be restored to pre-pandemic levels, but it does nothing to help tens of millions of other Americans.
