Cumulus Orders Radio Hosts — Which Include Dan Bongino and Mark Levin — to Stop Pushing Election Conspiracies

Cumulus Media, the employer of conservative talk radio hosts like Mark Levin, Dan Bongino and Ben Shapiro, is reportedly telling hosts they will be fired if they continue to spread baseless claims about the 2020 presidential election.
The radio broadcasting company boasts a number of right-wing radio hosts in its stable, including Levin and Bongino, who have amplified Trump’s evidence-free claims that the election was stolen from him through mass fraud. Those false claims were what incited an insurrectionist mob to storm the U.S. Capitol last week.
Washington Post reports that in the aftermath of the chaos, Cumulus Executive Vice President Brian Philips sent out a memo ordering the company’s on-air personalities to drop all claims the election was stolen. Failure to comply, Philips said, will result in termination.
“We need to help induce national calm NOW,” Philips said. “[Cumulus and its syndication branches] will not tolerate any suggestion that the election has not ended. The election has been resolved and there are no alternate acceptable ‘paths’…If you transgress this policy, you can expect to separate from the company immediately.”

But not iHeartMedia, which syndicates Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck.

Quite possibly Biden won the actual vote count, but how would we know or how could we verify? With electronic tabulators counting the votes, I only trust any precincts or counties or states that did full manual recounts of paper ballots.
Other, civilized, countries do full manual counts and auditing for the entire country. What are the odds that our Fed. and State govts. will figure out that the best way to prevent stolen-vote citizen upheavals is a transparent vote count?
I know lots of votes were mail-in this year. That process can be transparent too, with a trustworthy chain of custody, and I think it had more of that in 2020 than the evoting, which has never had anything non-shady about it.

The battle for eyes (TV, online media) and ears (radio) is linked to money and profits. Conspiracy theories are effective warriors in this battle, making them good for profits.
And conservatives knows that a world in which there are no facts, no evidence, no science, in which there is only opinion, emotion and pageantry, is a world in which they can thrive. There is a reason why conservative media focuses on conspiracy theories – $.
Something tells me that Cumulus management will change its tune in the near future. The desire for profits will require it.
The Big Lie: "Make the lie big, Make it simple, Keep saying it, And eventually they will believe it." AH.
"Arguments must therefore be crude, clear and forcible, and appeal to emotions and instincts, not the intellect." JG
National issues (slavery/racism, income inequality, pandemics and pathetic health care, weak unions) are not solved with more states' rights. Global problems (climate change, migration, trade, war, pandemics) are not solved with more nationalism.
