DES MOINES, IA – Today, 2020 Presidential candidate John Delaney announces his decision to withdraw from the 2020 race. This decision is informed by internal analyses indicating John’s support is not sufficient to meet the 15% viability in a material number of caucus precincts, but sufficient enough to cause other moderate candidates to not to make the viability threshold, especially in rural areas where John has campaigned harder than anyone. He strongly believes the Democratic Party should advance candidates with progressive values on the big issues of our time, but who are committed to governing with pragmatic, fact-based, bipartisan solutions

Well, I don’t think there’s a single person on Earth or in Hell who didn’t expect him (among others) to be gone the morning after Iowa, as is usually the case with crowded primary fields. But to stick around this long after being excluded from most of the debates & ignored by the media, seems odd that he would throw in the towel three days before the Iowa caucus.
I do have a slight curiosity as to which “moderate” candidates he believes he’s helping by getting out of the way. I don’t think Biden really needed his 3 or 4 supporters.

The Wall Street Journal reports that, in a surprise move, Michael Bloomberg leveraged Delaney stock so low that he was able to come in and scoop up all of it. His brand is now nearly secure, and experts say that Bloomberg is already negotiating a behind the scenes buyout of Tom Steyer. “When people talk about the obscenely wealthy Democrat running for office, I want everyone else to know that they’re talking about me.” Bloomberg remarked to reporters in one of his droll but humorous “Bloombergisms”.
Bloomberg initially spoke of his people in his “Murders and Abductions” department deserving of a lot of the credit for this success, but quickly corrected himself to say that that was a slip of the tongue, and that he meant to say “Mergers and Acquisitions”. Rumors fly that Trump has his price, but that Bloomberg’s initial feelers to the Trump family haven’t come close to meeting it. “We’ve spent years building up this operation, and we won’t settle for a penny less than its fair market value.”, a member of the Trump family has reportedly commented, while speaking off the record.
Whether Bloomberg will bear all the cost of these buyouts, or will float an IPO, is a questioned that is dominating the conversation of investors worldwide.

Delaney also lost in the Princess Bride.
I think Bernie won this Battle of Wits.

The average American has no idea who Mike Pence is, much less such a non-entity. Pure vanity on Delaney’s part that he even felt the need to annoumce his departure from a race no one knew he was in.

Candidate Who Posted His Workout Videos Says Bernie and Warren Need to ‘Stop the Nonsense’
The Delaney campaign message was simple enough: After four years of Donald Trump and a decade-plus of vitriolic politics, the electorate is just begging for someone with business experience who promised to govern from the center.
The idea that voters want a moderate Democratic nominee is an argument that’s been made time and again in the Democratic primary, most prominently by upper-tier candidates like Joe Biden, Sen. Amy Klobuchar, and former South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg. But it’s also been made by many, many other candidates this cycle. Remember John Hickenlooper, who’s now running for U.S. Senate instead? Michael Bennet, who’s apparently still in the race? Howard Schultz??
They’re gone, but Sanders — a socialist — is still there, running neck and neck with former Vice President Joe Biden, a key figure in the modern Democratic Party’s turn toward the center. It’s 30 months after Delaney entered the race, and we’re no closer to settling the debate.
So farewell, John Delaney. Your pessimism, DIY home workout videos, and extreme facial expressions will be missed — by the fraction of people who supported you.
