And if you support sending billions in weapons to Nazis in Ukraine and think that country is worth waging a nuclear war over, or continue to support those who do, then IMO you are dangerously insane.

All but two of the things she said about the Democrats were outright lies, and the other two were in support of terrible policies.

It seems to me that Democrats now stand for warmongering and not much else; they merely use social issues as campaign pandering.  If they actually fixed anything, what would they run on?

and they absolutely expect that logic/non logic.

Not gonna destroy the Republicans either because if you kill the monster, how can you threaten people with it?

That is what the Republicans are openly advocating. They already have control of the Supreme Court. That alone should scare you. They get to decide what is and is not constitutional, regardless of what the Constitutional actually does say.
A few more states coming under Republican control and then they can call a Constitutional Convention.  If that happens, then this country will no more. That is why the Republicans are advocating States Rights so strongly.

And “progressives” like AOC are open about not giving a flying fuck what their constituents want.  Biden is a wreck and Harris is no better.

I hate to think that (supposedly) lesser evil is what Progressives should vote for.  In any event – a party that supports Azov Nazis in an attempt to continue hegemony is not a party I can vote for.

They won’t rule like the Taliban any more than they did when Trump was in office. Then in 2024, you’ll still be telling us if the Republicans win they’ll turn us into the Handmaid’s Tale.

        I don’t believe it.

Meanwhile, you’re not the least bit concerned with the specter of nuclear war, and that tells me just how far done the liberal cult rabbit hole you have gone. Sad.

The Dems have fully participated in the slide to the right over the past 40 some years. They are sell-outs and appeasers.

But the Democrats are still better than the Republicans. This election is not like most elections. If the Republicans get control of Congress, we’re fucked. They already have control of the Supreme Court. Now in the Republican controlled red states, women already have become 2nd class citizens, having lost control of their own reproductive organs. That is just the start.
There is also the election laws and rules the Republicans are putting in place, making it harder, or even impossible to vote in the more liberal districts. With the control of the Supreme Court, whats to stop them?
Pay attention to what the Republicans are saying and doing. Pay attention what the MAGA are spouting. It may sound like bullshit, but that is really the Republican platform. They are doing nothing to help the people. At least the Democrats have done something. Social Security, for one.

BTY Politics Girl was not lying. What was called out as lies in her video, are not lies. Calling them lies is a conservative view point.

Biden is open about trying to slash Social Security for his entire career.  Obama created the Cat Food Commission.

JPR is not going to have any effect on this next Most Important Election In Our Lifetime.

…to push back on any of the Republican policies. They could have attempted to codify Roe, but chose not to. They could have prevented the Republicans from taking over the SC. They chose not to. The important elections that you are so concerned about are already done. The Democrats deliberately lost them.

The Republicans will do their best to take away more of our Rights. Including our voting rights. They are far more dangerous than the Democrats.

Come on people, think. Don’t let others do your thinking for you. That is the Republican way.

What is the Republicans platform? Besides more power for themselves and more tax breaks for the obscenely rich? And shutting down programs that help people, because… No money from their tax cuts.

As for any nuclear talk. That is all it is. Talk, threats to scare people. AKA, hiding under the desks from our hyped up nuclear threat in the 1950. Russia is not that stupid to actually use nuclear armament. Hopeful neither are we.

If Biden had a way to get around that, calling it the Elders For Ukraine Aid Act, or some such rot, he would never do that until after the elections.  Sort of like Pelosi holding up Covid checks until after the election so Trump would not get credit, in a reverse sort of way.   how caring and heart-warming. Everything is merely a campaign and fund-raising issue to the Dems. Did you know that Hillary had a plan to subtract another 3% from paychecks and gift that to Blackstone Group to administer, to rake fees from, to start on the road to privatization?  Blackstone guy was lamenting Hillary’s loss, because of the fees, and also he thought that this would be a perfect way to get rid of all those under-performing derivatives.  Sniff.   Just Google Hillary Social Security Blackstone.

Bill Clinton and Newt were all set to privatize Social Security, but then Bill’s wandering pecker got in the way, and Newt felt he could not be associated with Bill – seeing how Bill was going to be impeached and all that.  IMO, the only thing keeping the Dems from actually slashing Social Security is that Wall Street wants to “administer” the fund, plus, like other issues, Social Security is  a great campaign item.

And voting rights are hollow when the candidates are chosen by big money.  That is not democracy.  Plus whatever a Dem candidate campaigns on – if elected, they just do what Nancy says.

After Twitter included a fact check explaining how such increases are automatic due to inflation.

In other words, an administration bragging about a big increase is bragging about a big bump in inflation.

“Seniors are getting the biggest increase in their Social Security checks in 10 years through President Biden’s leadership,” read the tweet from the official White House account Tuesday afternoon.

Twitter, which was purchased last week by billionaire Elon Musk, appended a note to the claim that said: “Readers added context they thought people might want to know.”

”Seniors will receive a large Social Security benefit increase due to the annual cost of living adjustment, which is based on the inflation rate,” the note said, linking to the Social Security Administration’s website for an explanation on the Nixon-era legislation behind the increase – known as COLA.

            https://nypost.com/2022/11/02/republicans-fact-check-white-house-on-cause-of-inflation/

I just hope the White House avoids horrific examples of such thinking. Please don’t brag about how Medicare is providing a record amount of funding to the treatment of Senior Citizens in Chicago who were victims of violent crime, or how record numbers of rape victims there were getting government funded counseling.

It’s the conservatives in this country we need to worry about.

Posting things like, Masks don’t work. Refuse to wear them. COVID is like the common cold. A million people in this country died from other causes, not from COVID. Those refrigerator trailers parked outside the hospitals say otherwise.

Saying 1/6 was not an attempted coup, when it absolutely was a failed coup. Down playing the 1/6 hearings as showboating?

Those are all Republican view points. How do they fly on a supposedly progressive web site? I wonder what SFFH would think?

A million people in this country died from a capitalist health care system that the Democrats refused to fix; Covid pushed them over the edge. 1/6 was not an attempted coup. The 1/6 hearings are so unimportant they are beneath my consideration and certainly not worth my time.

My cats agree that feeding them is a far better use of my time.

And SFFH would think that you’re a brainwashed cult member, liberal, for that’s exactly what you are. What’s your DU handle these days? You would fit right in, Democrat. That’s an insult, BTW. You really should be offended.

More Republican talking points and an even insult. Yes, I am a liberal, progressive. Yes I know the Democrats are feeding at the same money tough as the Republicans. But the Democrats are not as insanely Right-wing as the Republicans, conservatives, MAGA are. The Republicans are on record as destroying this country and making it theocracy. The Supreme Court has already started. Why can’t you see that?
I am not a member of any cult. You are thinking of Conservatives, MAGA’s. I make up my own mind. I don’t need anyone to tell me what I am supposed to think. I am capable of critical thinking, which is why the push back.

BTY why was this site started? It sure wasn’t to push conservative viewpoints.

The Community Guidelines say “Advocate for Progressive/Liberal/Left goals.”

I think all of us here do exactly that, in our own ways.

The real challenge is finding political candidates that support that too. I miss our discussions of Bernie Sanders – whatever the last few years brought.

Biden cannot get rid of that law on his own, I believe – and most of Congress would likely refuse to go along with that – if only for reelection purposes.  So funny that Biden tried to take credit for an increase made necessary by inflation.  Also, the ONLY reason the Medicare premium is going down by $5 or so is because last year, Biden administration, Medicare premium went UP by around $20 – to pay for a ridiculously costly drug that no one used much, as it evidently did not work.  I honestly believe that if Biden could countermand the COLA, he would – but not until after the elections.  He has bragged about wanting to cut Social Security many times.  And, IMO, the current Congress would go along with it if they were not thinking about reelection.

Meanwhile, as @djean111 posted, Obama founded the Cat Food Commission and Biden has spent his entire career relishing the idea of destroying social security so that Republicans will like him. Nancy Pelosi opposes Medicare-for-All, she means-tests every kind of help which the federal government puts forth and she’s likely profited from trading on inside information. And of course, Democrats and Republicans both vote identically when it comes to passing defense budgets.

But if you want to trust such people, you do you.
