Get ready for the Trumpian covidiots pulling innocent people off the streets nationwide.  I wonder if they’ll be arresting “maskholes” that are poisoning everyone by refusing to wear a mask?  Nah, they’ll just arrest and rough up people in blue cities and states.

This is going to spread the hated for repukes faster than the pandemic is.

They are bound and determined to shut down protestors. So thinkers – is there another form of protest we can use that lets them make bigger fools of themselves and yet lets us have our say? Letter writing? Boycotts? Sit-ins at strategic sites? Keeping our children out of school? Flood politicians with letters and other items that will keep their attention?

What other types of mischief can we cause to get the attention on the right issues?

How about a nationwide strike?  What are they going to do if no one is on the streets.

This will never hold up in the courts, and will just hurt Trump’s election prospects even more. It’s almost like he’s trying to lose.

      https://www.npr.org/2020/07/17/892393079/dhs-official-on-reports-of-federal-officers-detaining-protesters-in-portland-ore

“When asked about calls for an investigation into DHS police tactics in Portland, Oregon, Acting Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security Ken Cuccinelli tells NPR not only are they not going to stop but they want to take the tactics nationwide.”

We’ll see.  If they really want to stir shit up, this is a good way to do it.

That would be one that they would have a hard time shutting down and it would  force Wall Street to pay attention. BUT it would also be hard to organize that as too many people are still thinking everything is just fine. But I am thinking that when the market starts reacting to continues virus, unemployment and the end of bonus checks, more people losing their health insurance and continued problems with the climate that will be the time for this one.

When Ds get into power they use the same gestapo tactics to go into red states and arrest white supremacists/domestic terrorists.  Let Trump go ahead and lay the groundwork for future use of these tactics, see how much repukes like them then.

You clearly illustrate why democrats should not be “in power” anymore than Republicans.

Let me explain something very simply:  If democrats manage to win the Senate and even the White House – and if they use their “power” as you suggest, those white supremacists that you speak of are not liberals, right?  No, they have a lot of guns and militia groups – they are in most states, they are in the military, police organizations, in political office.  What do you think the response would be?  Let me help you out: Those white supremacists would unify under the banner of “being oppressed” – and for once they would be right.  They would finally have the race war they have wanted for many years.

It may very well happen anyway – but if you want a society that is not twisted and evil, you do not exchange tit for tat with evil – unless you want to become like them.  Now perhaps pointing this out makes me a “knob” as you say, but support white supremacists?  Not me.  I’m not going to vote for either Trump OR Biden.

whose job is supposedly to protect this country and its people from domestic terrorism?

Trump, Barr and their little band of black Ops traitors, are DOMESTIC TERRORISTS.

Why are Governors not deploying the National Guard?

And as regards this situation, they are wise to be.  Calling the National Guard to fight and/or eject those feds would mean civil war.  Some think we are already there, or that it is inevitable.  Perhaps they are right.  Still, no Governor wants to be the one that starts it.  If the shoe were on the other foot, I do not think that the likes of Kemp would hesitate.  Yet those with sense – or even the slightest bit of wisdom – do not want this to come to war.  I do not recall who said this but, “Wars begin when you will, but they do not end when you please.”

is the only way this is ever going to end.

Trump’s circumventing the Constitution by deploying his merry band of Black Ops terrorists instead of U. S troops because he knows deploying actual troops against U. S. citizens violates the Constitution and most Generals would tell him to go pound sand.

Instead, they’ve devised this plan. Use Black Ops against citizens. I suppose some RW Generals could have suggested this to skirt the law, but either way, it’s wrong and ILLEGAL.

Something has to give and it means some Governor with balls needs to take a stand FOR THE CITIZENS.

What’s wrong is wrong. I don’t want the next administration to try to silence our opposition to their gestapo tactics with ‘whatabout’ Trump.

I understand where you are coming from with this – I really do.  I agree that Trump is a monster and that what he is doing is a terrible abuse of authority.  It is unconstitutional, tyrannical, authoritarian.  However… if that particular Pandora’s box is opened…

They can shut down the power.  The internet.  They have nuclear weapons, chemical weapons, bio weapons.  The “they” I refer here are the forces that currently – and likely for some time, will continue to support the federal government.  They have enormous amounts of money that are – as long as it is generally believed in – power.  As one fellow put it not too long ago, “They could hire one half of the Country to kill the other half”.

There is a fine line between bravery and foolishness – and it is damn hard to know how to walk it, or when it is time to abandon caution.  Perhaps it is naive of me to think this could end in any other way – I have long thought that we are on the path to civil and even ideological war.  Yes… if that is what the people truly want, the people will get it.  However, once we have it… well, it will not be so easy to put that particular genie back in the bottle.  It is likely that authoritarianism and militarism would further consume the entire Nation.  Have you seen the show “A Hand Maid’s tale”?  That could be our reality.  Or something even worse.  Or something better.  Impossible to say, there are simply too many factors at work here.

Perhaps you are right.  Perhaps the only courageous thing left to do is call up the Guard, rip off the band aid, sever the infected limb.  It will be far worse than the virus, if it really happens.  We will be more than likely looking at tens of millions dead before it ends, assuming it ends even then.  Our population is far larger than in the first civil war, our weapons are far more advanced – and some of them really should not be fucked around with at all.  They will be.

In the definition it springs from Common Law to all males over the age of fifteen on whom a sheriff could call for assistance in preventing any type of civil disorder.

So, the citizen’s right to cry for assistance whenever a serious crime occurred roused the fellow villagers to assist the sheriff in pursuing the culprit. By the seventeenth century, trained militia bands were expected to perform the dutyof assisting the sheriff in such tasks, but all males age fifteen and older still had the duty to serve on the possecomitatus.

In 2010 Prez Obama signed Executive Order 13528  — right after the Flight 253 “terrorist attack” and some other man-made disasters that established a Council of Governors, chosen by the Prez who may rubber-stamp long-sought-after Pentagon contingency plan to seize control of state National Guard forces in the event of a ‘National Emergency.’

Deployed federal forces were from the Department of Homeland Security–the US Marshals, Border Patrol, Federal Protective Service(they’re basically security guards who couldn’t cut the Marshals or Border Patrol, much less the military, or they’re veterans). They weren’t military, because the Joint Chiefs refused to obey Trump’s orders to deploy troops against civilians after that disaster in DC awhile back.

They weren’t even FBI, which is Department of Justice. Would the FBI split if they were ordered to do something like this? I think they might, otherwise Barr would have already sent them in.

And the tactic backfired spectacularly. They didn’t even know WTF with a naked woman doing yoga. I wonder how their morale is. I wonder what happens when a federal judge issues a restraining order against them. They’ll probably obey the court order, thus isolating Trump even more.

What’s he going to do next? Try to call in white supremacist militias? I’d love to see that. Talk about disbursing a crowd with a whiff of grapeshot, for that’s all it would take with those cravenly assholes. The slightest opposition and they’d run like the wind.

I do not think we should underestimate them.  That they are cruel, ignorant bigots does not necessarily mean that they are cowards.  Perhaps cowardly like a coyote pack – yet if the pack is gathered in large numbers and hungry…
