Dusty Springfield– Windmills of Your Mind

A great song from that magical musical year, 1968, sung by the late great Dusty Springfield

      2. Apparently the song made its debut in a movie, The Thomas Crown Affair

The original lyrics were in French, and the music was composed by French composer Michel Legrand (I had always thought it was Burt Bacharach for some reason). And it was originally sung, in English, by Dusty’s compatriot, Noel Harrison. Dusty’s version came out a few months later. That’s the version I remember hearing on my little transistor radio.

        4. The first I remember is the rendition in the Thomas Crown Affair….

then Dusty Springfield’s singing it. Even the latest remake version is still a pretty good watch of the Crown Affair Movie.  “Windmills of My Mind” just never leaves you once you hear it.
