I received this information from what used to be Ukraine travel information via e-mail; now the site is general information. It says:
English will be the language of business communication in Ukraine, Prime Minister Denis Shmygal wrote on his Telegram. The issue of granting it a special status in Ukraine was discussed at a government meeting. The government has already begun work on a legislative initiative.
According to the Prime Minister, today the entire civilized world community uses the international language in business communication. The adoption of a law on its special status in Ukraine will have a positive impact on the further development of the country: it will revive European integration, improve the investment climate, and promote business development. Relevant ministries have already been instructed to prepare proposals and documents.

Well, except for talking with acquaintances in Ukraine, and that the Ukrainian Constitution explicitly lists Ukrainian as the official language.

reminds me of Dewey Clarridge as CIA Station Chief of Rome not learning *Italian* since “anyone who’s anyone knows English” (spoiler alert, he didn’t know Spanish either when put in charge of crushing El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, and Nicaragua)

It’ll help drive Ukraine further towards the West, and show that it’s making steps to ingratiate the West. But right now, the only language that’s used is Ukrainian. Russian used to be accepted, but that went away sometime in the past.
Ukraine is NOT like the US, where you can get translations of documents that are helpful. In Oregon, you can even get the driver’s handbook in Russian. In Ukraine, it’s all Ukrainian.
I wonder if that means I’d now be able to apply for a Ukrainian tax ID in English – last year, it was only accepted in Ukrainian.
Well, I think that’ll depend on whether Ukraine will exist, or what it will be.

No clue who invented it but it is in a language all but the most ignorant understand.*
*(For example American politicians and Ukranian Presidents would not understand it!)

Did you get permission from the Nazis first? You know how they feel about foreign languages.

Probably the American Nazis are behind this.
