Establishment Pushing Joe Biden as ‘Anti-Hillary’ Candidate – Joe Has SAME BAGGAGE on Iraq, Banks, Tough-On-Crime, Paid Speeches etc. That Did Her In

“…A lot of establishment types have convinced themselves Joe Biden is the anti-Hillary, but he’s actually got the exact same baggage on Iraq, banks, tough on crime, paid speeches, etc. that did her in….”

”…Another major problem for Clinton that emerged over the course of the campaign related to her paid speeches for major banks during the brief window between her service as secretary of state and running for president. Bernie Sanders surged by hitting Clinton again and again for her ties to banks, demanding she release the transcripts of her speeches and undermining enthusiasm for her both on the left and from moderate good-government types.

Biden is in no better a position. He spent his whole career in the Senate representing Delaware, a major center of the consumer credit side of the banking industry. He was so close to the local banking giant that he was jokingly referred to as “the senator from MBNA” (which has since been bought by Bank of America). This made him, among other things, a champion of mostly GOP-supported legislation in 2005 whose aim was to make it more difficult for hard-pressed families to discharge their credit card debt in bankruptcy….”

      ………………………………….

“…But if he runs, he’s much too big a fish to be ignored by his rivals, and they’ll have to tear him down. Some of that will be policy-based, but some of it will probably be personal. Biden has followed Clinton’s footsteps in doing paid speaking gigs while also harboring presidential ambitions — an error that proved costly for her and will likely prove costly for him if it ends up under the microscope. Old, mostly funny articles like “9 Times Joe Biden Creepily Whispered in Women’s Ears” will get fresh rereads for the Me Too era, especially because Biden himself can’t seem to decide what he thinks about his handling of the Clarence Thom a s confirmation hearings — alternately apologizing for having mishandled things and griping that it’s unfair for Anita Hill to blame him.

Add it all up and you get a negative portrait of Joe Biden — the buckraker who failed to protect a  s e x ual har a s sment victim and spent the aughts boosting the Iraq War and bank deregulation after fueling m a s s incarceration and anti-g a y discrimination in the 1980s and ’90s…”

….I scanned the text and spaced out every possible obstructing censored word…..after trying over eight times with no success, I read over the text one last time and spaced out the word’ G A Y’…….the post was accepted…..WTF! The word ‘g a y’ is considered a censored word?…….FFS!!

PS- I tried posting this response and it was NOT accepted. I had to space out the word ‘g a y’…….it was then accepted!

They have a whole list of verboten words. I tried to post something on the N U D E fake photo scam the right wingers are trying to pull on AOC… nope, had that word in the link so nothing worked.

I do hope someday they figure out how to edit the list of censored words, or even better eliminate it for member posts. Apparently they can do so at the admin level.

…..They should just ELIMINATE their ‘whole list of verboten words’ completely!

What possible words or combination of words are so extreme that need to be censored? If someone posted a hate-filled rant filled with vulgar personal attacks against individuals or groups, they would be ‘reported’ on and dealt accordingly…….turn off the board word censors completely!

As will most of the rest of the candidates.   It will be even more interesting to see the Republicans running as “not Trump” if he’s finally indicted, impeached, or resigns.

Old, creepy, friend of the credit industry, I just don’t think the insiders can ram him down our throats. Didn’t work before. Won’t work now.

I am more worried about bright shiny objects like Harris and Booker, folks who can pretend to be progressives to the sheep while having certified net-lib credentials.
