      https://www.politico.com/story/2019/01/11/alexandria-ocasio-cortez-democrats-establisment-1093728?cid=apn

Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-N.Y.) predicted that Ocasio-Cortez will soon learn that Republicans are “the real enemy.”

“She will come to the understanding that it’s a better use of her time fighting the Republican Party than her Democratic colleagues who agree with her on green energy,” said Maloney, who called Ocasio-Cortez “very nice” and “very charming.”

Others aren’t so sure. They point to her first week in Congress: Ocasio-Cortez aggravated Democratic leaders and even some fellow progressives when she tweeted that she’d oppose the Democratic rules package, arguing it would stymie liberal priorities like “Medicare for all.”

More at link. Poor widdle democrats are scared of her.

My prediction – AOC will be sidelined and stymied until her next election, when the DNC will pour trainloads of money into primarying her with a corporate douche-bag from their giant bin of corporate douche-bags.  Until then, she will be used by some to “give us hope”, blah blah blah.

IMO the corporate Democratic Party is the real enemy, because it outright lies about what it means to do.

I’m sure you’re right. But until then, she can make a lot of noise.

My prediction is that she will be primaried as you say, but will win convincingly and become all the more of a force.

I don’t consider Capuano’s loss as a litmus test as a victory for progressives.  Capuano lost to fauxgressive, Ayanna Pressley.  I wish people would discontinue referring to this as a progressive victory.

After she defeated Democratic incumbent Joe Crowley in shocking fashion last year, Ocasio-Cortez supported primary challengers to Democratic Reps. Stephanie Murphy of Florida, William Lacy Clay of Missouri and Mike Capuano of Massachusetts.  Only Capuano lost. But Velázquez told Ocasio-Cortez she should think twice in the future before backing primaries against her colleagues. Murphy, the first Vietnamese woman elected to Congress, represents a swing district and could lose her seat if she’s forced to move left in a primary, Velázquez said during the talk.”

This is precisely the time for her to forge ahead for changes.

Obviously they do not want to change, and keep the status quo of only being beholden to the large donors.

The ACA, which was written in the Heritage Foundation, is touted to be this Progressive Coup, when it is the furthest thing from it.  It is a Corporate take-over of Health Care, with no cost controls, added administrative costs, and puts the onus on people ensuring debt and penalizing them for it.

It is a testament on how far to the Corporate side we have come as a country, turning people in to debt-serfs, that all of a sudden, something like that is considered to be far left.

They have no concrete idea on how to improve the ACA, other than providing that statement as a platitude.

So basically they just wish to shut her up then.  Yep, how hypocritical of them as usual.  They obviously have no fixed morals or ethics, as they tend to be shape-shifters who are changed by the demands of their corporate donors.

THAT my friends is the definition of being a Corporatist Dem.  That is why they are not trusted, and considered to be the opposite side of the same bad penny with the Republicans on the other.

I am not going to play with their Good-Cop/Bad-Cop routine, where they have the same intention, just one intends to play the monster while the other plays the duplicitous onahole who gives crumbs as they take slowly take away everything from you.

The only reason dem party exists is to ensure that no FDR style changes ever occur again. Her constituents voted for her but in this corpotoxic environment she will fai and then she will lose next election(hopefully not) The same happened to Alan Grayson. But I guess progressives already have known that nothing will change and they still keep voting blue no matter who

Never expect different result by following the previous steps

Some big differences though: Grayson was a millionaire (slammed as a hypocrite), AOC has walked (worked) the walk, is a POC, female and an attractive young lady with a huge soapbox at the moment. Also this is a different era of surging populism, and a new species known as Berniecrats.

So Grayson cannot be a real progressive because he is a millionaire?  Here in Florida, I believe that is actually a GOP smear.  Used by the DNC.  The DNC is actually now just a GOP lapdog.

Grayson was smeared terribly because he is a progressive.  The DNC funded Patrick Murphy, who had registered as a Democrat just so he could run against another Republican, and is a poster boy for the New Democrat Coalition.  Been replaced by O’Rourke now, I gather.  Anyway, the DNC just wanted to take out Grayson, and of course Murphy got trounced by  Rubio.  That is one of the reasons why I am no longer on Team Democrat.  THEY are the hypocrites.  Hillary’s $600 haircut is just fine – but Bernie’s jacket, that his son gave him, cost $700 retail, so the DNC posterior-wipes said Bernie is a hypocrite.

Perhaps it’s time to give that ‘stop AOC’ effort some genuine  Joe-mentum?

I still say that she is Bernie’s firebrand, continuously pushing his message making Bernie

(who as we all now is simply an FDR Dem) appear moderate to a brainwashed population that

has been thoroughly convinced that black is white and so forth…

Should say Corporate Whores instead of “Exasperated Democrats”
