PHOENIX/WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Hundreds of supporters of President Donald Trump rallied in downtown Phoenix on Saturday to contest Joe Biden’s election as U.S. president, charging the media with conspiring to steal the election and calling the results a “coup.”

The Trump campaign lent support to protests questioning the current vote tally, filing a lawsuit in Arizona Saturday over rejected ballots that Arizona’s Secretary of State said was “grasping at straws.”

Trump’s campaign alleged the Southwestern state’s most populous county incorrectly rejected votes cast on Election Day by some voters in the U.S. presidential race. The lawsuit, filed in state Superior Court in Maricopa County, said poll workers told some voters to press a button after a machine had detected an “overvote.”

Pro-Trump protesters have been assembling outside the Maricopa County Elections Department and at the Arizona State Capitol for days, espousing unsubstantiated claims that Democratic operatives had interfered with the election to illegitimately deliver Arizona to Biden.

If they are willing to cheat their own constituents that they must be willing to cheat anyone.

Trusting them at this point would be foolish.

the Brooks brothers riot. This time with semi-automatic weapons. You have to ask how many of these guys are getting paid to protest.

Dems aren’t that much smarter this time, they just have the Deep State on their side, given that Biden’s acceptance speech was sponsored by Chase.

@scottcrowder There’s no need for it. Of course, there was no need for it in anti-police brutality protests, either, but that’s a different thing. Besides, most cops voted for Trump, I’m sure.

They are going to need a whole lot more than hundreds of people to keep Trump in power. People hate him.

They don’t just dislike him or fear him. They Hate him.

Even when Bush or Carter loss their reelections, they didn’t hate them. They may not have liked them. They may have thought they were just more of the status quo. But they never hated them.

Even Machiavelli warned kings to NOT be so cruel that people hated them. Fear is fine. Fearing the power of the state is very common. But Hate is dangerous. It leads to collective action by “we the people”. Hate can be a very strong motivating force.

Trump is toast. He rigged the elections and it didn’t work. (While Pelosi and establishment Dems let them.)

The voters overwhelmed the cheat machine because most everyone really hates Trump a whole lot. And mail in ballots are harder to rig unless you mess with the US postal service….Oh wait.

      Another reason to hate Trump.

Trump’s popularity has gone down, but on the other hand the Dems are known cheaters (2016 and 2020 primaries).

But since the deep state got behind Biden he’s the “winner” and any calls for recounts or investigations will get swept aside like before.

@pam2 At least, he proved the all-powerful Deep State that CTers love which supposedly killed the Kennedys and engineered 9/11 and hated Trump never existed. There are intelligence bureaucracies and there is an MIC for sure, but Trump lost to Biden mainly because he was incompetent, not to any Deep State machinations–American, Russian, or anything else.

“There are intelligence bureaucracies and there is an MIC for sure,”

That’s enough of a deep state for me. That’s what I think of when I use that term.

Trump could have legitimately lost, but since our election process is so messed up, we can’t know for sure.

Maybe I’m just squirrelly, but I got a kick out of the way this post shows up on the landing page:

Why Arizona, OB? The Dems in your home state could’ve used some help.

@rufustfirefly Sherrod Brown’s the best of the lot, and I will never vote for him again. Ohio Democrats are corporatist to the core and every bit as corrupt as Ohio Republicans. You can’t help those who don’t want to be helped. They’d rather lose than be faced with the responsibility of governing, and then get voted out again ASAP when they don’t deliver on a damned thing.

Of course, people make up conspiracy theories about the Deep State, but it’s a real thing – it’s the vast horde of bureaucrats that make up the various departments, offices, and agencies of the Federal government.  Administrations come and go, but there is continuity in the bureaucracy and it has a momentum of its own.

His body recovered from his torment and became hale,
      but the shadow of his pain was in his heart;
and he lived to wield his sword with left hand
more deadly than his right had been.

@maedhros That was the original definition of the term, I believe, and true enough. It’s just that the term Deep State has been hijacked by so many wackjobs and charlatans on both the left and the right that its meaning has been twisted and often means different things to different people. The term is a conspiracy theory when it is used to describe a small, at least semi-secret, group that uses the powers of those agencies to control everything in the name of some insidious agenda.

And there are a plethora of proposed agendas selling all sorts of books and movies. And sometimes heated debate on political discussion forums.

I can believe that some in the bureaucracy may get together in small groups of two or three that work in some department, that disagree with the party in power and gum up as much as they can get away with.  But there is no “momentum” of a large secret organization, that meets or communicates somehow, and has a leadership, (Hillary or Soros).  I’d first believe in 9/11 theories, as there is actual proof, like building 7 going down untouched for instance.  What has this Deep State even accomplished?  The only Deep State, if one wants to call it that, is the corporate establishment Democrats who conspire to keep out progressives from key positions of power within the party.

But I wish we’d leave these crazy theories to Republicans, of some coordinated large organization backed by Soros money, somehow exists and operates behind the scenes….even during times when Republicans have control over all branches of government, and investigation powers, and would give anything to prove they exist. That this Deep State is so clever they can still avoid being exposed. And if they are there to help the corporate Democrats, defeat corporate Republicans……why bother?  They are winning anyways. Whether its Biden or Trump, they win. What is the point of their existence?  For all that risk of being exposed and charged with subversion, and the crippling damage it would cause the Democratic party,  why????

How many presidential candidates have seen THREE of their opponents SHOT, and two of them KILLED? As far as I know, there is only ONE– Richard Milhous Nixon, protegé of the Bush family and one of the most corrupt presidents ever.

but @nvwino now, that’s another story.

        As in that’s her picture.

She needs cred for it once in a while because she so nice to me. So, if you gonna use it, make sure she gets the cred once in a while. Not often maybe, but just occasionally. She gave it to me to trash the kid with on Trivia. And I’ve cherished it ever since.

        You missing the fun.

This photo is a present to use. Just give her cred once in a blue moon. She’s a true friend and a really good photog and I want everyone to know she took it so they realize what a treasure we have here.

The fucking picture was a DIRECT shot at Deadpool, will once again become a direct shot at Deadpool I’m sure, and it is supposed to put smiles on faces.

Use it for the fun of it.

I’ll have you know that I’ve misspelled at least four words writing this.

        Shit.

Seriously man, ya gotta think these things through!

      Stealing an election for Biden…sheesh!

It turns out it was the republican party itself. In the goppers never ending attempts to keep the libertarian party off of the ballot to stop them siphoning off republican votes, all they succeeded in doing was keeping the green party off of the ballot so they couldn’t take votes away from biden. Jill stein got more votes in 2016 in az, pa. and wisc. then the difference in those three states in 2020. Example dump wins wisconsin by 22,000 votes as jill sten gets 40,000 votes. In 2020 no green party on ballot and dump loses wisconsin by 20,000. Look in the mirror republicans if you to know who lost the election for dump!
