As federal authorities crack down on the far right after the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, the movement’s leaders have found new sources of suspicion: each other.

In the Trumpist “America First” movement and the far-right paramilitary group the Proud Boys, alliances are fracturing as extremists brand each other as potential informants. Now racist live-streamers are accusing their former comrades of attempting to turn over followers to law enforcement, while Proud Boys chapters are splintering from the national organization over similar fears.

Until the FBI started closing in, white nationalists Nick Fuentes and Patrick Casey were the two most prominent figures in the racist “America First” movement.

The pair built up shared audiences on live-streaming platforms, and cheered as their fans, nicknamed “groypers” after an obese version of the cartoon Pepe the Frog, heckled more moderate Trump allies at conservative events.

      .

We are an arrogant species, believing our fantasy based "facts" are better than the other person's fake facts.
If you are wrong, it will be because you are not cynical enough.

      Hi rcw,

Given the history of the FBI, this citizen and voter has long since stopped believing anything unnamed informants have to say.  At best this article reads like an information PsyOp designed to instill fear in the public.

This may break up groups but not individual beliefs. As a matter of fact this event may absolutely reinforce some individual beliefs. This is not a solution, the outcome may make matters worse.

There were a lot more Christians and other religious zealots when they were persecuted. Unless you kill just about every last one.

Q: How do you play Russian Roulette?

A: Have six people in a room telling anti-state jokes and you don’t know who the informer is.

In the 60s the same thing happened with the left wing groups who thought we were infiltrated by the FBI.   Purity tests of all kinds appeared and the groups accused each other of being traitors to the various causes.

The tables have turned this time and it’s the fascists accusing each other of not being fascist enough.

and harden the hard core, making them more violent and dangerous. But it will also prove their point to the masses.

The idea of America as a 1950s civics class state, where if you keep your lawn mowed and your tie straight you have nothing to fear, is unsustainable. Such a state must try to become a Nazi police state, but the outcome will be either Stalin’s Russia or Mao’s China.

Every group, which may think even barely of protesting

anything, has been and will be infiltrated. It could be by the

FBI or the MIC or the CIA or whatever government agency.

This is very old and has to be assumed by those groups.

It’s a terrible; but I confess to a bit of schadenfreude.

(The new movie, Judas and the Black Messiah, dramatizes the tactic well.)

Destruction is easy; creation is hard, but more interesting.
