Germany owes 'vast' sums of money for NATO claims US President Donald Trump

US President Trump tweeted on Saturday morning that Germany owed a large debt for the protection of the US.

“Despite what you have heard from the FAKE NEWS, I had a GREAT meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel Nevertheless, Germany owes vast sums of money to NATO & the United States must be paid more for the powerful, and very expensive, defense it provides to Germany!” he wrote in two Twitter posts sent 8 minutes apart.

(…) He thanked Merkel for Germany’s commitment to increase its NATO contributions to 2 per cent of its gross domestic product (GDP) from the current 1.2 percent, but said it was “very unfair to the United States” for European allies to take advantage of US defense spending.

“These nations must pay what they owe,” he said Friday.

‘These nations’ don’t owe the US a fucking thing. The commitment to spend a certain percentage of their GDP is non-binding and it is our own business in ‘these nations’ if we want to throw away our tax money for unnecessary tanks, airplanes and idiotic and brutal wars or if we want to maintain and improve social services, free education and well-regulated health care.

As regards ‘owing’ and Germany in particular, among all ‘these nations’, the US get their German bases for free. They don’t pay nothing for vast areas of land and the tens of thousands buildings they occupy. They even receive German tax money for the construction of new buildings that are later used to spy on the very people who granted these subsidies! More than 100 million Euro every year.

So, Trump and the whole lot who support him: if you don’t like it here, get the fuck out! You can save us a lot of money and land! Nobody needs your troops in Europe except for a few statelets you have bribed to cry for your help. And not a single German has been asked if you can use your German bases for your murderous wars. Please, don’t praise Merkel, please continue to bash her so we can at least spin a little dream of a ‘rift’ among the ‘powers’ (or rather between those representing the power, and their minions, bought and sold and perhaps groomed and pressured to follow suit).

    1. Our commitment to NATO may be shaky.

I wonder what our NATO allies are thinking.  We are sending some pretty strong signals that we are building a war making capability that will enable us to snub NATO.  Our president seems to like and admire the Russian president, and minimizes the Russian threat.  At the same time, he wants to get deeper into Syria and ramp up the fight against ISIS.  If I were Merkel, I would think twice about spending more money to appease the United States, and maybe invest that money closer to home. As long as the US dominates NATO, it might be a bad investment.

      8. Trump is also aware that a team of independent Dutch economic forensic

Auditors discovered that trillions of dollars are missing, in terms of NATO.

I am hoping that Trump will keep tabs on some of the ridiculous spending the citizens in this country get forced into doing, all the while that politicians utilize things like the HUD agency here in the USA, and NATO abroad, to keep themselves rich and happy.

    4. Trump has to be the most ignorant jackass the United States has ever had for a

President. Every single time he uses his Twitter account, he screws up so bad that his staff has to spend the entire next week walking back what Trump tweeted. His staff has to try and patch things up with whomever he has offended on the weekend by shooting his big dumb ass off using his Twitter account.

    5. Thanks to 45 if the US wants to start a global war with a major power now…

… It will probably do it alone due to his pissing off our major allies big time.  And this may annoy some folks but the US CANNOT fight both the Russians and the Chinese alone.  Hell look at how we are doing against out current opponents.

Still a the good thing that may come out of this is that maybe the euros will finally have enough of US BS and yank NATO out of the their hands and into European control (yeah I know it’s a pipe dream but in which IMO will look a hell of a lot different and work much more better at it’s job of protecting Europe itself if it actually happpened)

    6. The EU

countries should no longer support the US when it tries to pass sanction resolutions against other weaker countries.
