Let’s see if this becomes such a hot potato that leaders from both sides offer two bills, so that people can both support the idea, and not support the idea. They wouldn’t both have to come to the floor, just allow people to say I supported such and such, when they voted for its opposite.
I forget the particulars, but that did happen in the past.
