Klobuchar takes shots at health and education plans supported by Sanders and Warren

White House hopeful Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) drew sharp contrasts with some of her progressive primary competitors Friday night as she sought to burnish her moderate bona fides.

The Minnesota lawmaker criticized health and education plans that have been promoted by Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.). Both presidential candidates are running in the primary field’s progressive lane.

Klobuchar said single payer health care plans would kick millions of Americans off their insurance and that their plans for free public colleges and universities would allow rich families to exploit taxpayer dollars.

“I want to win big, and if someone is looking to kick 149 million Americans off their current health insurance in four years, then I’m not your candidate,” Klobuchar said. Both Sanders’s and Warren’s “Medicare for All” proposals include eliminating private insurance.

It is apparent that Amy does not understand Single Payer, universal Health Care. Either that, or she is being paid not to.

We are an arrogant species, believing our fantasy based "facts" are better than the other person's fake facts.

If you are wrong, it will be because you are not cynical enough.

Totally agree. She is so out of touch with the people of her state it is not even funny. Get off the campaign trail and meet with some of the people in Minnesota who wish that you understood our problems. You have been useless to us.

I guess her voters like her and her resolute adherence to centrism. Good for her, but will not work on a national level.

because that would give people a real choice on the left. She blocks anything progressive since the alternative isn’t any better.

This is a tried-and-true conservative strategy to muddy the waters and convince low-information voters to reject universal health care.  They focus the debate on “losing your private coverage” and completely ignore “but the new coverage will be better, cheaper, and available to everyone.”

So that should tell you something about Klobuchar.

His body recovered from his torment and became hale,
    but the shadow of his pain was in his heart;
and he lived to wield his sword with left hand
more deadly than his right had been.

Funny how candidates like Amy are never asked to bow out of race despite being polling bottom dwellers. Same with Harris and Beto. But if your name is Sanders, well it can’t be too soon.

    This is just disingenuous nonsense:

“Klobuchar said single payer health care plans would kick millions of Americans off their insurance and that their plans for free public colleges and universities would allow rich families to exploit taxpayer dollars.”

No one is being kicked off their health insurance. Medicare for All provides everyone with coverage. Klobuchar is simply lying when she says this.

Same with her prognostication with government paid college. She is blanket denying millions both the opportunity to attend college and those that do to finish debt free because of some scare that a millionaire’s kid might go to a public college instead of a private one. Such bullshit. This is a feeble play at populism that makes no fucking sense after about two seconds of thought.

    She can go fuck herself.

It’s a lie that Bernie positively nuked in this so-called debate. As he said, “All premiums are gone. All copays are gone. All deductibles are gone. Out-of-pocket expenses at the point of service are gone. Yes, Medicare taxes on the middle class go up a little, but the average person has a lot more money in their pocket,” or words to that effect. Not to mention people will no longer be chained to jobs they hate just so they can have less rapacious health insurance or health insurance at all.

Medicare for All liberates us from the tyranny of the racketeering mob that is the health insurance industry. Amy Klobuchar and all the Democrats who don’t fully endorse Bernie’s plan want to keep us enslaved. What would Frederick Douglass say?

If they choose State U over Harvard, I don’t see the problem.  I bet there’s a lot of the super-rich that will choose that option, lol.
