Gone in 24 hours.

The cardboard notice I taped to the town’s ‘community bulletin board’ is already gone.
I hung it last night at 5PM
Now, 5:10PM, it’s gone! Expected as much. I hope a bunch of people saw it today as they walked down Main St

Give it time.
The thought police will soon be at your door.
Best not stick ones head up too high in times like this.

better deal would be to tack a few up high on telephone poles down Main St. If I went out with a 6′ ladder I could pop one up at 10′ in seconds (in the dark)
Harder to take down the next day. I know where the local security cameras are….post office, outside town hall. and one at the local pizza place. I can avoid those.

You did no harm. It wasn’t even vandalism. A fine First Amendment exercise.

to go out at 1AM in dark hoodie and mask with spray paint and do the street
I’d give Banksy a 2-oz jar of very good bud if he’d do it for me.
Your choice Banksy: White Widow, Chocolope, or Northern Lights.
Oh screw it…a jar of each. Banksy, are you listening?

to do something like this. I know because I’ve done quite a few public notices on this order.
My first one was in my feminist days when I stenciled “this advertising offensive to women” on the thigh of a 30-foot tall statue of a woman in a bathing suit. This muffler chain had the statue as their symbol. The name of the company was Marge’s Muffler and the statue was known as “Marge the Muffler Queen.” I didn’t see what mufflers and women in bathing suits had anything to do with each other, so that’s why I wanted to do the message.
It’s really hard to do this without someone driving by and seeing you, even at 2 a.m., not to mention how difficult it is to get the stencil in position on Marge’s thigh which was way taller than I. I did it, though, and did them all in one night. I drove the whole town putting up that message on every statue.
Our feminist group had asked the chain to remove the statues on the basis that they were sexist, but they had ignored us.
Marge no longer exists, to my knowledge.
