Gov. Mike DeWine tests positive for COVID-19 prior to Trump visit

Why is that not available to the rest of us? The delay in test results is a major factor in the spread of the virus.

I hope he stays asymptomatic. He’s done a better job with the pandemic than most governors, and certainly better than most Republican governors. And the Lt. Gov, Husted, is a Pence type. I’ll keep DeWine over that fanatic, thank you very much.

…in terms of his initial response to the Cheetoplague, shutting down the state in March when most other Republican governors were still calling it  a “hoax”. My guess would be somebody in his office is still in lunatic fringe territory and brought the virus to work. Presumably there’s going to be a lot of testing going on in Ohio now.

Throw up a false positive test, you don’t have to meet Trump.  Go home, take a couple of weeks off.

@hubheaver I listened to a live press conference on my evening commute. DeWine said the test was required by the White House, that they administered it and it came back positive within hours. The reporter asked him when Ohio would be able to get those quick tests, and DeWine said he didn’t know but would try to find out.

DeWine did take another Covid test, but the results won’t be known for days. If that one comes back negative, it would imply that Trump didn’t want to meet with DeWine because the latter has made him look bad!

I can hear him now, with tiny hands waving in front of him–I don’t want to meet with Mike DeWine. He didn’t do what I told him. I can’t stand talking to him; he comes at me with all these fake facts about the China virus and asks me for more money for the states just like Pelosi.
