Justice Democrats, the liberal group that engineered Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s meteoric rise — hijacking the Democratic Party in the process — is ready to go to war.

It’s a fight that Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Chairwoman Cheri Bustos (D-Ill.) and other Democratic leaders want to avoid. “If any of our attention is diverted to primaries … it’s not what we want to do,” said Bustos, a moderate Democrat who represents a district that Trump carried. “Henry Cuellar is a hard-working member of Congress. He’s a good man, and we want to make sure he comes back. I hope we don’t have to turn our attention away from what is most important to survive with this fragile majority that we have.”

Shortly after joining Justice Democrats on a call announcing plans to launch primaries against Democrats, Ocasio-Cortez launched a leadership PAC. Those are typically used to raise money for fellow candidates and expand a member’s influence within the party. The mission of Ocasio-Cortez’s Courage to Change PAC is to support candidates “ideologically aligned” with her, but is “not for the specific purpose of” mounting primaries against incumbents.

Progressive Caucus leaders Mark Pocan (D-Wis.) and Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.) have distanced themselves from Justice Democrats. And for the first time, the caucus’ fundraising arm is hiring a full-time staffer devoted to candidate recruitment in the 2020 cycle.

Cherie Bustos has a lot to be worried about—she ran unopposed in her primary in Illinois and I really hope they find someone to primary her in 2020…

The best way to fight neoliberals is to expose them and make them vulnerable. Defeating 1 Neoliberal is more important that a 10 progressive wins

Never expect different result by following the previous steps

They will not easily relenquish their power, that we know. So—I would hope they start with Cherie Bustos.

“We do not support Cheri Bustos as leader of the DCCC,” Shahid said. “Bustos has not supported progressive policies like Medicare for All, free college, a Green New Deal, or ending private prisons and immigration detention facilities.”

The group is critical of her for not taking in enough of her campaign funds from small-dollar donations and for taking money from corporate political action committees. Only about 12.5 percent of Bustos’ donations were small-dollar, according to an analysis by the Center for Responsive Politics, a non-partisan group that tracks money in politics. About 42 percent of her funds in this cycle, or $1.5 million, came from PACs, while another 43 percent, or $1.6 million, came from large individual donors.

He is concerned about her support for party leaders’ “Better Deal” agenda, rolled out in May, which was supposed to mollify progressives but has become a symbol of the establishment message they reject. The party leaders are promoting the agenda as a way to “help build an America in which working people know that somebody has their back.

Jayapal alluded to complaints by progressives in the midterm election that the DCCC was favoring moderate candidates over progressives in some primaries.”

Our fight is to win back half the duopoly. This is done in two stages:

Stage one) Primary the puppets of the donor class

Stage two) Refuse to support those puppets during general election, thus attaching the loser label upon their ideology.

AOC is working fervently on stage one. I will do my part for stage two.

Ha! I do think a number of them are shaking in their boots after seeing the results of the mid-terms. Not only did a number of unexpected candidates win they are collaborating to help inspire more people to put it out there and go for it in 2020. I think their days are numbered (the establishment candidates) and they are well aware of it.  Progressives have polished their ground game and this is going to get GOOD.

The hypocrisy of the Vichy Democrats knows no limits. Henry Cuellar got his start by successfully primarying a more liberal Democratic Congressman named Ciro Rodriguez in 2004, with the full support of the Clintonista wing of the party.

Now they are crying because they are starting to get a taste of their own medicine. Poor widdle snowflakes.

Where’s the “take out” part?   I’m all for replacing moderate Democrats with more leftist Democrats but “take out”?    She even says the intent isn’t to primary them.

The mission of Ocasio-Cortez’s Courage to Change PAC is to support candidates “ideologically aligned” with her, but is “not for the specific purpose of” mounting primaries against incumbents.

The loaded wording of this piece is yet another establishment attempt to make voters feel uneasy about AOC’s agenda and to focus attention on her tactics, thus diverting attention away from her policies.

but if the neo-liberal is defeated and just replaced by his twin, what’s the win?  you need something better to replace.
