Of course I thought it was cool, but Star Trek was still better.
I can’t say that about the new Star Trek series like Discovery and Picard, though. I think they well and truly suck. I’ll take the old Star War movies over them anytime.

I was tempted by Star Trek Picard, but turned off by yet another subscription fee.

It was fun to see some of my old favorites from TNG show up on Picard: Data (or his “father” anyway), Deeana Troy and Reikert, etc. They spared no expense on the effects.
The writing however was atrocious. It’s nothing but a space soap opera. I got more out of one episode of the Next Generation than I did from the entirety of the first season of Picard.
