Rep. Pramila Jayapal: “Don’t be so quick to blame the progressive members who have been responsible for energizing these groups who will ultimately SAVE THE DAY for the race for the White House.”

So Hey Joe, Try Not Getting Too Dizzy Believing Your Own Inflated-Delusions That YOU Beat Trump. People Came Out in Droves to Vote With One Collective Thought…..to Throw Donald Trump Out of Office, Period!! It Was NOT Because of Your Smile or Politics TurdWay Joe. A Stuffed Mannequin Would Have Faired Equally Well or Better and, as a Reminder That Bernie Sanders Would Have MOPPED the Floor With Orange Trump and His Goons.

      -snip-

Congresswomen Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar, members of the progressive Squad in the U.S. House who represent districts in the states of Michigan and Minnesota respectively, received applause and praise Thursday for their role in lifting Joe Biden in those two battleground states—pivotal victories that have helped put the former vice president on the verge of ousting President Donald Trump. Among the nation’s most progressive legislators, Omar represents Minneapolis and its nearby suburbs, while Tlaib represents portions of Detroit and some of its suburbs in Wayne County. Both lawmakers campaigned heavily for Biden leading up to this week’s election, and observers say Biden’s victories in those states may not have materialized had it not been for that heavy lifting which propelled huge turnout in diverse districts.

While the Biden-Harris campaign resisted in-person canvassing, Omar’s campaign kept doing it, hiring dozens of people to knock on doors and pull out votes,” the Washington Post reported earlier this week. Ken Martin, the chairman of Minnesota’s Democratic Farmer-Labor Party, told the Post that Omar “doesn’t need to increase turnout here to win her race… She could take a vacation and she’d get reelected, easy.” “But,” Martin added, “she recognizes that she has a responsibility to drive up turnout; it’s really important for all of our statewide races, especially the presidential race.”

According to Martin, Omar “does really intensive, face-to-face contacts, with a lot of personal relationship-building, and building long-term power with communities of color,” something that “a lot of politicians don’t do.” Tlaib is also no stranger to organizing in her district. “Direct voter contact wins elections,” Tlaib tweeted on Wednesday night. “Our team knocked doors, called and texted residents, and registered folks who had never voted before.” “You get what you organize for,” Omar pointed out on social media on Thursday afternoon. “And in Minnesota, we organize for massive turnout,” which the congresswoman claimed is at a “staggering 88%… in my district so far.”

….he won this election because the majority of the electorate (including Republicans) wanted Trump removed from office……period! If another republican (other than Trump) ran against Biden and avoided all the moronic missteps Trump engaged in throughout this campaign, Biden would have probably lost in double-digits…….Biden inspires nobody to get out and vote for him or his programs…….He won this election because people were determined to remove Trump from office!

I will wait to see in the next little while (after it’s official that Biden won) if Biden’s inflated ego claims his presidential mantle by kicking progressives and their socialistic platforms to the curb while rewarding corporate TurdWay centrists with key administrative appointments. He better remember WHO got him to the big dance……

A lot of progressives helped Biden get elected, but I question the extent to which he can leave his centrist comfort zone.  Since he won’t run again, he doesn’t have to worry about donors or constituents turning on him, which means he could be guided by his conscience and the needs of the moment.  Think, for example, of LBJ, who had run as a racist southerner for years but pushed through the Civil Rights Act when he was president.   When asked about this, he responded “Free at last, free at last…”

So, if we believe the people who say that Biden is a decent, good, and empathetic man, we have reason to hope.  But the freedom also runs in the other direction, to ignore the pleas of progressives, compromise with his Republican friends, and perhaps gild his family’s nest for the future.   Moreover it will be all to easy for him to blame the Senate for impeding any progressive legislation, even when a lot of things could be done (or undone) with executive orders.  Obama ran as an FDR style Democrat but governed like Clinton; can Biden run as a centrist and govern like FDR?  It seems unlikely, but there are rumors afloat from his staff that he is increasingly thinking we need an FDR style presidency.  I hope that means more than fireside chats.  If he can do that, he might redeem his checkered career and save the Democratic Party along with it.  So…I have hope but not confidence in his leadership.

….but I’m NOT holding my breath that Biden has ANY testicular fortitude and will do the right thing when facing the republican Kraken.

Joe Biden has been forever a political student obsessed with promoting his longtime ‘kumbaya’ cattle call of ‘compromise, working with segregationist Republicans blah, blah, blah! The only way Biden could possibly have a realistic shot of producing a FDR style presidency (with ANY hope of success) would be (first and foremost), the adoption of these FDR words into his party platform serving notice to republicans:

They are unanimous in their hate for me–and I welcome their hatred!!”

He’s going to to as little for We the People as he can get away with and perhaps not even that much. Joe Biden could be so bad he triggers an actual revolution. It’s possible. He can easily avoid it, but he doesn’t think it can happen here so he won’t even try. Neither do his handlers.

only the true believers and too rich to care top 5% are buying the schumer-pelosi-bloomberg DINO line anymore @n2doc

unless the Ds actually do something for the people this go-round, something more than posturing, i think that’s it for the Ds.  No need for 2 corporate parties, one at least will die.

After that I don’t make any predictions about what happens to an economic constituency of about 80% of the population.
