Well, duh! Or maybe “Doh!” Homer Simpson would have done better. My neighbor’s aging, diabetic cat would have done better. Of course, most people on this board are thinking, “Not much better!” And therein lies the weakness of the neoliberal third way centrists. They typically do better, but not that much better. They’re not known for bold leadership that measures up to the passionate rhetoric. I believe President Hillary Clinton would have listened more carefully to health professionals, but would She implement strict policies? I think there would have been a lot of pearl clutching, a lot of talk about protecting the less fortunate, and so on and so forth. But the huge majority of Covid-19 rescue money would have gone to wealthy donors, probably different wealthy donors than those who got the money this time, but wealthy donors nonetheless. Would Clinton have instituted a cohesive national strategy and defended it in the face of the inevitable backlash? I doubt it. I think we would have seen the same sort of start-stop, zig-zag behavior we’re getting now. It would have been different, but not much better. And Hillary would be harangued by Republicans for not doing anything about Putin offering bounties for killing US soldiers in Afghanistan. The politics would be turned around 180 degrees, but it would be business as usual.

How well the dems in Congress and the Senate have done – I doubt it.  They knew enough.  Months ago, anyone paying attention to the experts knew this was going to get bad.  One Nation after another went into lockdown – one Nation or another passed a stimulus to give people money every month to live…

Canada, for example, is giving everyone 2k per month.  Here, in the “richest Country on earth” we got (some of us) a one time 1200.  The billionaires got hundreds of billions – but the rest of us are expected to pay 3k for Gileads “treatment”.

It has been a damn racket from the start.  For those assholes (out elected “representatives”) it is all about the money.  Clinton is/was among the very worst of them.  So, better than Trump?  Maybe.  Good?  No.  Passable?  No.  Actual genuine effort or decent legislation?  I doubt it.

They would have (a Clinton admin) given just as much to the wealthy – and maybe ducked arpund with Obamacare to make us all pay even more.

So, fuck Trump – and fuck Clinton too.

It is better to vote for what you want and not get it than to vote for what you don't want and get it.--Eugene Debs

Show me a man that gets rich by being a politician, and I'll show you a crook.--Harry Truman

It’s all about Iran and Russia, you see?

And invading Venezuela – Honduras style. Just imagine how many LGBT activists could have been killed in Venezuela: Clinton would have had the best day in her life since DOMA was enacted..

Anyone on this board would have done better than Trump, so that’s just a no brainer. The Democrats have fucked up just as much as the Republicans with the non response to this thing. Bread crumbs thrown to the masses in the form of a one time long since spent check. They’ve bowed to economic pressure to open back up creating more sickness and risking more lives. The presumptive Democratic nominee, who should be assuming some sort of leadership role, is mostly hiding in his basement while Pelosi and Schumer are the dithering do nothings. This country is completely in the shitter.

Yes, she would have… with Excuses.

Dumbass in charge can’t even make excuses correctly at this point.  Results though?  Probably close to the same.

However, if it was her in charge, I DOUBT that we would have gotten even one direct payment.  Those types of maneuvers tend to be done by Republicans.  i.e. Bush.

in line with neoliberal voodoo economics, that “making the rich richer makes the poor richer, too!”  To her credit, she did give speeches to Wall Streets banks at $500,000 a pop when she was … Secretary of State/president-in-waiting.

Yep, considering how Pelosi was the first stumbling block to the initial proposal of an Andrew Yang type UBI payment citing “Means Testing”, I don’t see such a thing coming out.

It is only now, that it has happened once are they kinda pushing for it.  Actually, I still barely see Pelosi championing such a thing.  She, mind you, is my gauge of what Clinton would be doing.

I suppose you could have done better than Genghis Khan and Joseph Stalin, too.

I could do a better job at being president – and I would get 0 votes (not even my own) if I ran for the office.

They are called 'human' rights not "if politicians do not feel threatened" rights. Many politicians see national sovereignty/security as more important because they protect their power and wealth. Human rights often do just the opposite.

National issues (slavery/racism, income inequality, pandemics and pathetic health care, weak unions) are not solved with more states' rights. Global problems (climate change, migration, trade, war, pandemics) are not resolved with more national sovereignty.

She can stand in line with those losers and be remembered for all the things she DIDN’T DO BETTER –

      Source: CounterPunch.org

*She has always been a warmonger. As First Lady from January 1993, she encouraged her husband Bill and his secretary of state Madeleine Albright to attack Serbian forces in the disintegrating Yugoslavia—in Bosnia in 1994 and Serbia in 1999. She’s stated that in 1999 she phoned her husband from Africa. “I urged him to bomb,” she boasts. These Serbs were (as usual) forces that did not threaten the U.S. in any way. The complex conflicts and tussles over territory between ethnic groups in the Balkans, and the collapse of the Russian economy following the dissolution of the Soviet Union, gave Bill Clinton an excuse to posture as the world’s savior and to use NATO to impose order.

*Clinton has been a keen advocate for the expansion of an antiquated Cold War military alliance that persists in provoking Russia. In the same year that NATO bombed Belgrade (1999), the alliance expanded to include Poland, Hungary and Czechoslovakia.

*As New York senator Clinton endorsed the murderous ongoing sanctions against Iraq, imposed by the UN in 1990 and continued until 2003. Initially applied to force Iraqi forces out of Kuwait, the sanctions were sustained at U.S. insistence (and over the protests of other Security Council members) up to and even beyond the U.S. invasion in 2003.

*She was a strident supporter of the Iraq War. As a New York senator from 2001 to 2009, Hillary aligned herself with the neoconservatives in the Bush administration, earning a reputation as a hawk. She was a fervent supportive of the attack on Iraq, based on lies, in 2003. On the floor of the Senate she echoed all the fictions about Saddam Hussein’s “chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program.” She declared, “He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including Al Qaeda members.” She suggested that her decision to support war was “influenced by my eight years of experience on the other end of Pennsylvania Ave

*She actively pursued anti-democratic regime change in Ukraine. As secretary of state from 2009 to 2013, Clinton as noted above endorsed NATO’s relentless expansion. She selected to serve as Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs the neocon Victoria Nuland, who had been the principal deputy foreign advisor to Cheney when he was vice president.

Hell, no... I'm not giving up...
