Honduras police fire tear gas at protest against president

TEGUCIGALPA (AFP) – Police in Honduras fired tear gas at more than 5,000 opposition supporters holding a protest against President Juan Orlando Hernandez in the capital on Friday, during the country’s independence day celebrations.

The demonstrators were expressing their anger at Hernandez’s bid for re-election in November 26 polls, made possible by the supreme court two years ago overturning a constitutional one-term limit for presidents.

    1. Lol! That's what these fascists that Obama-Clinton installed in power…

…FALSELY accused Mel Zelaya of doing, when they kidnapped him at gunpoint and forced him – the elected president of Honduras – out of his country!  ( – via a re-fueling at the U.S. air base in Honduras).

But we don’t see any hotshot DC public relations firm sending stories to the New York Slimes about this, do we?

    Gawd, the hypocrisy!

And they have the nerve to teargas protestors over this, after they beat up, imprisoned, raped and murdered so many!

Mel Zelaya’s offense?  He was a friend to the poor.
